Thanks, AB & Good Morning to EveryOne! Congrats to last week's top posters! Prayers to Phsstpok's family!

Before tomorrow's Prez' SOTU speech, MSM will try to diminish the Prez as a lame duck with low approval ratings & such. Americans gave Prez.Bush to rule until, Jan 2009 in REAL ELECTION.

Let 's offer a Pre-buttal to the MSM.

About their opinion dynamics poll - they predicted "Gore win", "Kerry win", awarded Florida to Kerry by 6 points & democrat-senate (in 2004). (Fox Star declared that David Kay will be remembered in History for W's defeat, now - David who?) As recent as this cycle, they predicted virtual tie in Michigan & 10 pt. lead for Obama - both PROVEN FALSE.

Obviously, they 're sticking with the same loser-democrat-pollster - which no successful business would adopt.

Heritage Foundation proved that it was Pat Buchannon, the spoiler in 2000 elections taking away more Bush votes than Ralph Nader taking democrat-votes that caused a closer Bush-win. But, Bret Baier even this week giving the false-democrat-spin while reporting about Nader run.

Bush responsible for Katrina "debacle"(yeah, even McCain says that) - Proof is in the latest 99% Luisiana election results.

MSM declared that Bush will be a "lame duck" because of the closer election. Proved wrong, passing 2 of the BIGGEST tax-cuts. Won 10 million more-votes in 2004 than in 2000.

2 wars, 2 Supreme Court Judges, Conservative-Fed Chairman. Most Pro-Life advancement ever.

Above everything-else, MSM slashed & burned itself because of BDS. 81% don't believe whatever they "report" as news.

11 more months left. Let them keep calling "lame duck". RESULTS MATTER above all.

David Kay, now that’s a blast from the past. The guy who steadfastly, adamantly refused to acknowledge and blatantly excuse/minimize any evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq... and there was plenty. Some of the chemical weapons were used against our own troops for crying out loud.

Most people forgot him, but I’ll always remember that jerk’s face.

Their is hardly anyone left to do that anita. Too many conservatives would have to eat crow to praise the President. Noonan took the opposite track "GWB Destroys Republican Party". That is what is going to happen. No one can tout GWB's accomplishments because so many have spent the last two years denigrating them. Remember, the consensus here has been that the President is no conservative. We are now down to McCain, Romney, or Rudy none of whom hold a candle to the President when it comes to conservative positions.

The only way any Repub candidate will get into the White House is because Hillary is disliked or Obama is black. Unfortunately, McCain is the most acceptable for disaffected Democrats and independents, and would be the Republican's best candidate. He is the anti Bush.

Unfortunately, even though they don't believe what the MSM reports, too many of the sheeple still let them influence what they think is true, hence the low approval ratings for Bush, the trashing of Fred's campaign, the build up of Huckabee and McCain, etc.

So far the MSM has been calling the tune for way too many people's view of what's happening in the campaign.  They've managed to eliminate the truly strong and worthy conservative choices, such as Hunter (early) or Thompson.  I, for one, bought the line on Hunter not being viable way before that should have had any meaning.  That's because I had other choices I thought were both "more viable" and at least acceptable or, as in the case of Fred, even a great choice.  Now that it's down to fewer choices they'll have less ability to drive things their way (I hope) and push their choice McCain on us.  There are fewer places for reasonably intelligent people to turn if they don't want McCain so the opposition won't be as divided.  Huckabee isn't it, leaving Mitt or Rudy and, of the two, I much prefer Mitt (though I could live with Rudy over McCain)

Hell, I could live with Obama or Hillary over Huckabee, for that matter.  The Huckster represents the worst case combination of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter to me.  With Hillary I belive that we could effectively counter her most of the time, even without a majority in either house, and I think that she would galvanize the nation much the way Jimmy Carter did, but today, with us around, she wouldn't have as much opportunity to damage the nation during her term as Jimmah did.  Obama is someone I think we could also oppose effectively on the more extreme things he might do, though there is more danger if he is "leading a movement" of him doing damage that will be hard to fix.  He also is that rare bird, a liberal who is young and, perhaps, naive enough, to hold the positions he does honestly, even if he is wrong.  If that is the case there is the possibility that he could learn the error of his ways and turn out to be a good thing, in the long run. 70-30 against, but possible.

For me most of the same kind of logic about the Democrats applies in regards to McCain, but for different reasons.  I definitely like most of McCain's positions on the WOT, but his fondness for embracing folks like Kerry and even his Vietnamese torturers troubles me in that arena.  More importantly I think that he is terribly wrong on so many issues, such as immigration, that having him as the President makes me afraid that we couldn't muster the resources to oppose things like Shamnesty, given a Dhimmicrat Congress.  That would make him more dangerous, IMHO, than Hillary or Obama.
