It’s pure theater.

When she offers Obama the VP spot, it will be hailed as the greatest re-unification the world has seen East and West Germany. And black Democrats will forget why they were ever angry at the Clintons and vote as they always do.

I agree completely and the MSM will love every minute of it. Hopefully people won’t be that stupid and really be turned off by the whole affair.

I'm not quite that... optimistic?

I expect that if Her Heinous gets the party coronation, the Veep selection will be none other than one Billy-Jeff Willard-Rodham Clinton.

What, you say? The Constitution says that a Veep has to be someone who's qualified to be president?

No problemo. Slick will just fold his arms, jut his chin (folks are always a sucker for that classic "Il Duce" pose), wag his finger, and say, "I am qualified to be president. I proved that to y'all twice now, 'member?"

But wait, you say -- that would be [*gasp*] illegal?

Oh, dear... we can't even dream of a Clinton doing something illegal, now can we.

LOL!

Yeah, I can see him doing it. And, yeah, I can see the buck-passing lilly-livered "Grand" Old Party hacks smiling out one side of the snout, while assuring us -- out the other side -- that if there's really a Constitutional conflict, then surely the Supreme Court would take care of it, and it's certainly NOT their job to stand in the way of "The Will of The People" and the "democratic process."

Besides, isn't that what happened with "Campaign Finance Reform"? As I recall, the man at the top acknowledged that it was unconstitutional -- as he signed it into law -- and passed the buck to the Supreme Court, telling us that they would take care of it.

Uh huh.

And then there was the "Clinton Impeachment" -- remember that exercize in accountability?

Face it -- when a political power-meister is truly above the law, only a silly naive person would think that the law would stand in the way of his ambitions.

I seem to recall that shortly after Clinton took power for his first term, he immediately assigned a task force with the goal of finding out an end run on that pesky "two-terms" limitation.

Sure looks to me like they found it.

Of course, slickness is as slickness does -- so, I wouldn't put it past 'em to indeed run B. Hussein O. as Veep -- and then, graciously "accept" his resignation shortly after they get back in the saddle (an offer I fear he might be only too glad to submit, should his name be found among those infamous "900 FBI files").

From there, it would be child's play for Lady Rodham to appoint Willard to the V.P.'s job -- issuing a handy dandy "Emergency E.O." if that's what it takes to silence the troublemakers who'd try to say nasty things about the plan.

You know -- "Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool!"

We now return you to your originally scheduled nightmare...

(A nightmare made complete by the current "G"OP offerings, the "moral equivalent" of the cosmically loser-destined Dole "token candidacy.")

I see people chuckling over how the dems are attacking themselves and how this would be good for the republicans -- and I think to myself, oh, yeah... now, if only we had a candidate to go up against them. As long as The Stupid Party refuses to break character, and gives us a choice of Captain Queeg or the hero of the Mitterites, well, gag me with an old copy of "Groundhog Day."
