The Epic Collapse of Rudy Giuliani
POLITICAL LORE.COM ^ | 26 JANUARY 2008 | POLITICAL LORE

Posted on 01/26/2008 5:31:02 PM PST by Extremely Extreme Extremist

In four days, on the night of January 29th , Rudy Giuliani will know the fate of his political career. The Republican Presidential candidate and former Mayor of New York City is pushing all of his chips into the middle on the state of Florida. Anything but a first place finish will for all intents and purposes end the former frontrunner’s chance at the Republican nomination. Just two short months ago Giuliani led Florida by a full 20 percentage points over Mitt Romney, but as of today Giuliani trails McCain and Romney by an average of about 5%. This represents a 25 percent nosedive in the polls.

So what the hell happened? This is the man that cleaned up the capital of the western world and bravely helped his city recover after the devastating attacks of September 11th. Well, what happened was the voters began to pay attention. While Rudy was enjoying the perks that come with being the GOP front-runner, the rest of the candidates were busy carving out their niche in the election by championing an issue to give their campaign a distinguished voice. Mitt Romney is the accomplished venture capitalist with business savvy and mannequin good looks. McCain presented himself as the war hero who will not let the troops come home, this makes him “tough on terror.” Mike Huckabee branded himself the “Christian Leader” and has tried to keep a cross hovering over his shoulder as often as possible. Fred Thompson was the champion of gun rights who honed his political wit on the set of Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU. Ron Paul has gone against the grain by telling the American people the truth and he is the Champion of the Constitution.

Rudy’s issue became not cleaning up crime in New York City, but simply holding the title of mayor at the time of the September 11th attacks. The majority of the American people have yet to make the connection of how that would make him a great President and I don’t see it either. Even Tancredo made a name for himself with immigration.

Then just as the American people began to realize that Rudy didn’t have an issue the scandals began to roll in one after another, and they would not go away. Bernard Kerik, Giuliani’s former driver who worked his way up to New York City’s police chief under the close tutelage of Mayor Rudy, was indicted on Federal corruption charges. This scandal single handedly exposed Giuliani’s lack of judgment when making important decisions because Giuliani not only promoted Kerik to Police Chief but he also recommended him for Director of Homeland Security. The American people began to worry that if Rudy’s right hand man was facing a laundry list of federal indictments, then what would his eventual Presidential cabinet would be a nightmare.

The Kerik scandal was just one of many scandals to plague Rudy’s campaign. Others included having New York City’s finest walk his mistress’s dog, allowing his law firm to do business with sworn enemies of the United States…the list goes on and on.

And this is not to mention that the man suffers from uncontrollable giggling fits. He has been heard giggling during important moments of GOP Presidential debates. He also giggled his way through most of an extremely important Meet the Press interview. The general feeling towards Rudy after such pathetic performances was pity and embarrassment because nobody enjoys watching a man publicly self destruct.

But don’t feel too bad for the guy he will always have the lecture circuit and quite honestly, I think we will be more comfortable there. He will also get a chance to catch up on his reading.

he’s not an abortionist. He doesn’t interfere w/anyone’s choice. And neither does God, we have a choice to do His will or our own. Rudy didn’t make the laws. He doesn’t demonstrate hate towards any person. Love the person, hate the sin. Those people will come around quicker w/love but never by condemnation. And that’s biblical.

Rudy was a great administrator in NYC. He turned an ungovernable, disorderly city into a proper world capital. He needs a speech along the lines of his 1994 Inaugural; "it can be done, it must be done, it will be done".

While he was vacationing in FL or wherever, his opponents were building their followings. Rudy took his following for granted. He hoped that the early primaries would be meaningless. He misjudged and it’s costing him.

The majority of the republican base is conservative and the base is going to elect the most conservative candidate that can win to be their nominee. It's no more complicated than that.

Just because, I am going to wait until votes are actually cast and counted before I count anybody in or out. I'm just not enough of an expert or a fortune-teller to be as certain as this author is.

I have already voted in Illinois' primary, which is officialy 2/05/08, as many people here have.

The Kerik scandal was just one of many scandals to plague Rudy’s campaign.

Conservatives are very wary of RINO Rudy---he's itching to pardon mobbed-up Bernie Kerik.

Kerik is Rooty's former bodyguard, driver, Police Commissioner, failed Homeland appointee, business partner, admitted felon and tax evader (in that order) who is currently under investigation for lying to the WH.

Kerik is Rooty's obedient yes-man---he signed off on the security detail for the mistress, and paved the way for Rooty's various political gambits.

Watching Rooty navigate the political process is like viewing a horror film festival---he's got more sequels than Bela Lugosi. What else is he hiding under his cape?

Rudy is all but done. I knew he’d never appeal West of Manhattan.

Scandals (of his own making) plague Rudy.........not to mention that Rooty suffers from uncontrollable giggling fits. He has been heard giggling during important moments of GOP Presidential debates. He also giggled his way through most of an extremely important Meet the Press interview. The general feeling towards Rudy after such pathetic performances was pity and embarrassment because nobody enjoys watching a man publicly self-destruct.........

CASE IN POINT Rooty's MTP interview was appalling. During one of his giggle fits, Tim Russert was constrained to remind him these were serious questions he was being asked.

CASE IN POINT---THE MOST IDIOTIC ROOTY RUSE Answering a cell phone from his wife at a critical moment during his all-important NRA speech---that was Rooty's way of telling the NRA: " I could care less what you red-necked gun nuts think." His contempt for the NRA was underlined when his phone-in wife said she did not want to say hello to the assemblage.

His family situation was too ugly. When your kids won’t show up on the stump, you’re pretty much done.

Keep in mind that one poll showed an astronomical 88% of those polled had a problem with Rudy not attending his son's graduation.

It’s not Rudy's only problem, by any means. But abortion is the deal breaker.

You got that right.

Giuliani got rattled and was chased away from a Florida campaign stop when pro-lifers showed up at his speaking event. Giuliani ran the other way rather than face pro-lifers---the campaign speech was cancelled.

Rooty's private life epitomizes Planned Parenthood's condomized Fully Fornicating society (Giuliani donated to PPhood; NARAL donated to Mayor Rudy's campaign then honored Rooty's exhaustive efforts to advance abortion rights.)

Unzipped Rudy is something else. Mayor Rudy had no qualms causing the public humiliation of his second wife by dumping her at a news conference without even telling her. He tried to dump his two young kids out in the streets---saying he was dividing the Mayoral mansion in two---to move in his mistress.

Married Rudy was also porking his mistress on the public dime and hiding the theft of public services in obscure city agencies (a felony), then lying about it to voters.

Giuliani's messy personal life is a big turnoff to women voters. It makes wives and moms around the country skeptical of putting him in the White House.

If Rooty can't control his zipper, how can he control the country?

One news poll found 50% of women overall - and 48% of GOP women - are less likely to vote for Giuliani because he publicly humiliated and dumped his second wife at a 2000 press conference without telling her first.

Lots of women say Giuliani's assigning seven tax-funded bodyguards/drivers to his girlfriend while his wife was still NYC's First Lady was EVEN WORSE than Rudy's public humiliation of the mother of his children. "Rotten" is a word that came up again and again when women refer to Rudy.

Rooty's "family values" are nonexistent----an astounding 88% of those polled had a problem with Rooty not attending his own son's graduation

If you listened to the polls, Gore and Kerry won the last two times in Florida.

The missing story of this election cycle is how corrupt the pollsters are and how they are actually affecting the outcomes of these elections by swaying people from voting a certain way.

The pollsters who are probably controlled by the Clintons don’t want to see Rudy have any shot....so they publish these polls to try and persuade voters into thinking he does not have one....then people want to vote for a winner so they pick someone else who they think has a shot.

btw....Romney and McCain will get their clocks cleaned in the general election. The Mass health care debacle for one and age for the other.

Why do you think Rudy was smart enough to go into Florida a closed primary state so early? The absentees!!! Before all the slimy and lying pollsters had hit. Rudy calculations I believe will prove to be brilliant. [Rudy KNEW he'd be wasting money in all these ridiculous open primary states.]

The pollsters have been off quite a bit especially in the donkey primaries. Once folks continue to see how off pollsters have become, they'll lose their effect.

I know-—watta shockeroo.

But don’t worry——Jooty and Rooty will have lotsa time reminiscing how his numbers sank when voters found out he was porking her on the taxpayers’ dime and hiding the theft of services in obscure city agencies (a felony).

Jooty/Rooty can also figure out how come Jooty was living in a posh NYC apt and in a Hamptons condo, and was gowned, bejewelled and groomed like a princess-—but she had no visible means of support.
