Blue haze?

I'm thinking the gaseous, RINO GOP must be in town.

Montani semper liberi.

I love that phrase.

I'm thinking Montana and WV should have some kind of contest and the winner gets to keep that as a state motto.

I was thinking governor against governor with chainsaws in a cage -- but our governor is such a liberal pu$$y.

As an after thought, if your governor is as much a liberal as ours, maybe we should encourage them both to get into a cage with chainsaws.

We take these things pretty seriously. Ever hear of Methylisocyanate (MIC) that killed a few thousand Indians a few years ago? It's here.

Are you in near the blue cloud?

Here is copy of email I sent to a local news reporter in Charleston, WV:

Martin,

I am concerned about the gas that enveloped the Kanawha Valley 1/25/08, and the incompetent emergency reaction.

1. Your report contained the assertion “People are afraid for their safety, but officials at every level say there is no need to panic in a situation like (SIC).”

How patronizing it is for officials to play the old saw ‘no need to panic’.

What most people desire is accurate information so that they can take effective protective actions. Panic is rarely encountered except in ‘officials’ minds.

2. The warning system appeared to have let us down. There was a significant delay in even acknowledging the fact that there was a chlorine fog burning people’s eyes and respiratory systems throughout Charleston area. The warning sirens were not utilized...WHY NOT? There was an unknown noxious gas throughout our area with a possible LARVIN component release.

3. The Daily Mail initially reported on its website (about 3 p.m.) that Kent Carper, County Commissioner, was infuriated at BAYER, for not alerting METRO of the total amount of an accidental THIODICARB release. One ‘barrel’ became THREE ‘barrels’ of release. The Daily Mail website article indicated that firemen had sprayed the release site, and that investigations were continuing. This report somehow has now DISAPPEARED, and there has been no follow up comment. It was evident that BAYER was probably the source of the contamination.

4. In this post 9/11 era, why is it so difficult to have noxious gases analyzed, so that their source can be quickly identified? Good grief, we live in the CHEMICAL CAPITOL of the world, with supposed ‘state of the art’ analytical equipment with top research scientists. Why are we reduced to putting a couple of officials in a helicopter to fly around looking for escaping gases, who then make only a conjectural conclusion?

5. Why doesn’t some specialist/official confirm or deny that the coal emissions from John Amos power plant smell like chlorine? Do they?

6. Why is it impossible to email 911 METRO to request information or report concerns? METRO Director Carolyn Charnock makes 70,000 dollars/year; why doesn’t she have an available email address posted on the 911 METRO site?

Thank you for your continuing reporting of this issue. I am not satisfied with the quality of our response system in the Kanawha Valley. We are lucky that the release wasn’t MIC with a repeat of Bhopal’s carnage.

Someone has never been to Pascagoula, Mississippi, or any other paper mill town! This would be a great day in Pascagoula/Moss Point.

I'm thinking Montana and WV should have some kind of contest and the winner gets to keep that as a state motto.

Montani semper liberi...Mountaineers are always free. State motto of West Virginia.

Montana state motto is "Oro y Plata" (Gold and Silver) so not the same but I'm sure our ultimate lib governor is a match for yours. We look for him to replace Sheets Byrd some day.

I’m pretty apolitical on sports teams. I cheer for both Mountaineers and The Herd.

Mountaineer in my usage was meant as “a true West Virginian”.

Well, I know Montana's motto is Oro y Plata, but your's is cooler.

So I'm suggesting our governors fight it out to the death for your motto.

Either way, 2 lib governors fighting it out could be fun, unless they look like a couple of sissys throwing punches like they were girls throwing footballs.
