With no responsible adults stepping up to claim responsibility for the emission, there are only a few other possibilities. Hopefully we’re beyond the TMI syndrome of blowing sunshine up the local’s skirts.

It could be an as-yet undiscovered rail car leak, it could be local jihadis, it could be Krychek and the man who smokes cigarettes... but it is very real to those in Charleston.

Sometimes I think breaking news stories’ links should attribute ‘... and the usual gang of idiots.’

The news is indeed confusing. First reports indicate a chlorine smell...now no mention of it.

Charleston west virginia. It just appeared this afternoon about 1 pm and no one knows where it came from.

It caused watering eyes in some people.

I saw it myself this afternoon for a little while and I suddenly got spooked and got out of town.

Thanks Roccus. That’s making a bit more sense now. We get the air hanging around in the winter here. Maybe it kept the coal power plant emmisions much nearer to the ground than usual. Blue haze makes sense too, but the chlorene smell is curious...

A chlorine leak you don’t really smell anything.
I lived across the street from a chlorine plant and they had a leak one day. blew the siren and everyone had to stay in and close windows and vents etc. The bad thing is, you can’t see it or smell it, but you feel it if you breathe it.
