1 in 10 Workers in Ariz. Are Here Illegally
KTAR ^ | 25 Jan 2008 | Kevin Tripp

One in 10 Arizona workers are here illegally, according to a revealing new study.

The Pew Hispanic Center says the new number is based on U.S. Census data and their own surveys.

Steven Camarota, an immigration critic with the Center for Immigration Studies, says the Arizona figure contrasts to the national picture.

"Nationally, we think that about 5 percent of workers in the country are illegal immigrants."

It's important to note that both anti-illegal immigration critics and immigration reform supporters consider Pew a relaible source.

Well, the good news is that since AZ is so close to the border, then it shouldn’t be great of an expense or effort to ship them all home.

Hillary or McCain will legalize these folks and the problem will be solved.

Might not be able to retire, but we'll survive.

I thought illegals were supposed to be a drain on the economy, and kicking them out would make us all richer?

ROFLOL, So the tax payers are suppose to spend billions on illegals so some slum landlord doesn't lose any money. LOL That is a good one, since they some times live 20 are thirty to a house. Not much impact and defiantly not my problem, try renting to legal citizens.

Illegals “are” a drain on the economy, in ways too numerous to list. Everything is stretched to it’s limit with illegals leeching on for a free ride.

Personally, I’d love to see 5% less traffic, and 5% less burden on schools, hospitals, roads and bridges.

The cost of things would come down, if they were sent packing also, because there would be less demand. Taxes.....one can only hope ....once the gubmint gets more money it’s hard to get it back.

Me too.

It is good to occasionally remind ourselves what some of our politicians think of us, and this picture is worth a thousand words by illustrating it.

If they know the number is 10%, then they must know who they are. That makes it easy to identify them and boot them the hell out of my country.

Hmmm. An person from Illinois telling Arizonians to suck it up and commit economic suicide.

Nice. [/s]

Arizona can place advertisements in newspapers in cities throughout the country that have high unemployment rates and let people there know that there are jobs available in Arizona (along with lots of sunshine). Arizona will have no trouble finding enough workers to fill all of their available jobs.

Oh yes, he’s done a great job here in his home state, and I beg to differ with those odds, I think it’s more than that.

However, you don’t need to ship them home, if only people would stop hiring them to do their yards and odd jobs they’d have no reason to be here and tromp back there on their own.
