Same thought I had. Are you experienced? If so, then you'd know that with purple haze comes...
In Byrd's case, I think you could argue no laws were broken.
I wouldn't think coal emmissions would smell like chlorine. Diesel or jet fuel it might smell like, or any number of other hydrocarbon type smells (even methane!), but chlorine?
Cold river, strong inversion, collected exhaust fumes from plants, cars and myriad sources lead to these conditions, it’s possible that there are chlorine leaks that have remained undetected but I doubt there is anything sinister here.
