How long before WorldNetDaily starts claiming theres a massive angel in West Virginia? WND didn't claim anything. They just reported a story.

quote from www.cagw.org "Sen. Byrd has set a new standard for taxpayer-funded narcissism by convincing the West Virginia Legislature to erect a statue of himself in the state Capitol. The statue's completion violates state law prohibiting statues of government officials until they have been dead for half a century. Byrd's statue is currently housed in the Capitol Rotunda, as shown in the picture, and it is said if you stand under the statue the senator's hand points directly at your pockets."

violates state law prohibiting statues of government officials until they have been dead for half a century In Byrd's case, I think you could argue no laws were broken.

A chemical odor and hazy cloud that moved across the Kanawha Valley Friday afternoon appears to have come from a combination of coal-fired power plant emissions I wouldn't think coal emmissions would smell like chlorine. Diesel or jet fuel it might smell like, or any number of other hydrocarbon type smells (even methane!), but chlorine?

Cold river, strong inversion, collected exhaust fumes from plants, cars and myriad sources lead to these conditions, it’s possible that there are chlorine leaks that have remained undetected but I doubt there is anything sinister here.

“Moye said company officials believe it is more likely that a unique water condition led to the odor and the haze. AEP officials are cooperating with the DEP investigation, Moye said.”
Smelled like smog to me. Maybe that’s what they’re trying to say.
