[history]
Fire crews on top of the 3,000-room hotel at 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. S. are trying to contain the blaze, which broke out shortly after 11 a.m.
Four welders who were working on the roof were trapped there, but they were recently rescued.
The blaze began at the top of the hotel and has spread down into four different parts, including the roof, a top corner of the building and a couple of floors down from the roof. There are 32 floors and about 3,000 people staying at the hotel, which is owned by MGM Mirage.

Aw, man! I used to do a lot of work there. I hope it doesn’t do too much damage. :(

Why evacuate Bellagio? It’s a mile away - north of the huge CityCenter construction site.

Labor trouble?
Like the striking union that set fire to that hotel in Puerto Rico in 1986 that killed over a hundred people?

Doubtful. The Strip casinos generally have a pretty good relationship with the various labor unions. Now the Downtown Vegas casinos...not so much.
