that’s right.
his base is in the ny times.
Transcript of Roberta McCain on C-SPAN
Steve Scully: This is a political question in terms of how he gets the nomination, but just from what you have seen, how much support do you think he has among the base of the Republican Party?
Roberta McCain: I dont think he has any. I dont know what the base of the Repubmaybe I dont know enough about it, but Ive not seen any help whatsoever.
Scully: So can he then go on and become the nominee of this party?
McCain: Yes, I think holding their nose theyre going to have to take him.
Scully: Can you explain?
McCain: Well, everything theyve done and said. Now Im really popping off, but he worked like a dog to get Bush re-elected. Hes backed Bush in everything except Rumsfeld. Have you heard other senators and congressmen backing Bush over eight years? Find me itgive me a name. Ive not seen any public recognition of the work that hes done for the Republican party.
Oops.
How can a non-Republican have a base in the Republican Party?
I suspect that she’s spent too many evenings listening to her son rant and rave about how the base doesn’t properly appreciate him, after all he’s done for the party and how he’s stood up for the president.
So she thinks she’s giving the interviewer the right line, straight from the horse’s mouth.
Never, never, going to happen.
Regarding his work for the GOP.
Yeah he works for the GOP. Often it’s in direct opposition to the people. He came and helped my RINO congressman in his reelection bid a few years ago. Fortunately he failed and we got a conservative anti amnesty congressman instead.
I believe you are exactly right.
That man makes more goofy faces than any politician I’ve ever seen. LOL
They all suck.there, fixed your tagline
I think it will change if he gets the nomination. Our soldiers in Iraq need a McCain over any Hillary or Obama and I feel the base will rally around if just on that one issue.
Write your own tagline.
Doesn’t see any support for her son from the GOP base?
Her eyesight is still sharp.
I like McCain on military and anything that requires nerve. These days, all Presidents need to be tough minded. That said, I haven’t made up my mind yet, but will this weekend.
