Maybe because the truly conservative, humble and honorable Duncan Hunter became familiar with Romney and recognized him as a lying sack of organic fertilizer.

Huck was the only one of the pack that doesn’t stink to high heaven. Still, I can’t support Huck.

What I can’t believe, is how Freepers are now falling all over themselves to support Romney.

Same here. I never understood the invective directed toward most of the candidates to begin with (I disagree with all of the RINOs but I don't ooze hatred of them like some here seem to). Last week it was "Flip" Romney this and that but since Fred's out apparently we're supposed to flip to "Flip".

I'm no great fan of Huckabee but, except for now agreeing to enforce the border, he really has been the most consistent of the remaining bunch.

I think my new motto might be "I may end up voting for Huck- but only because the others suck even more than he does!" I was searching facebook yesterday for a group with similar sentiment but I couldn't find one.

He is the lesser of the evils. Here is my take on the current crop:

McCain: Unapologetic amnesty lover. That alone disqualifies him. Plus he despises the conservative base unless he is groveling for votes.

Paul: Nuttier than a pile of squirrel droppings.

Guiliani: Little too liberal in everything but economy.

Huckabee: Amnesty lover - in-state tuition, LaRaza speeches, etc. Anti-smoking NAZI, Ignorant on foreign policy, "bunker" mentality statement, etc.

Romney: Was governor of liberal state. Was forced to pass gay marriage. Unsure, though about Mass health care - how privatized it really is ? Who is left to vote for ? I give you the lesser of the four evils.

I don’t see any increase in the number of seasoned Freepers that support Romney.

I have seen alot of Rombots try and run propaganda on FR and other places over the past several months. Mostly I have seen them plant false stories aimed at competing candidates from the Republican Party. They might as well be democrats.

I have noticed a few recently born Freepers that praise and hail Romney on everything.

But mostly I have seen Romney supporters carry out tactics that I would expect to see come from the Clinton camp. These tactics are distasteful and they have been confirmed by other candidates including Thompson and Huckabee.

I believe Romney’s support is an inch deep. It is paid for support, paid for endorsements and paid for media coverage.

Romney has no principles. He schtick is “Vote for me because I am perfect”.

Because Economy is issue No. 1. If you lose your job or your small business, nothing else will matter much. If national economy gets weak, weak military will follow, & WOT will not matter. Reagan presided oner 8 million abortions, GWB presided over 8 million abortions, so it is abundantly clear who is president won’t be able to stop abortions.

Romney is the best on economy. He actually ran a successful business. No one else has, not Huckabee, not McCain, Not Rudy, and no one on the other side of isle.
