Roger Hedgecock interview with Duncan Hunter on remaining GOP candidates and his endorsement of Huckabee...
Is there ANYBODY who enter the race right now and appeal to the majority of conservatives?
Subtle but low.
Maybe you should go refine your skills over at DU.
Here is just a little information that I have found about the ties to the Chinese and Iraq that Hunter was alluding to in his Hedgecock interview.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bain_Capital
Bain Capital LLC is a Boston, Massachusetts-based private equity firm founded in 1984 by Mitt Romney. Romney was the Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007. In addition to Romney, the firm was also founded by two other partners from the consulting firm Bain & Company: T. Coleman Andrews III and Eric Kriss. Bain Capital was originally conceived as a combined equity start-up and leveraged buyout fund, an innovative strategy at the time.
On September 28, 2007, Bain and the Chinese networking company Huawei Technologies acquired 3Com for $2.2 billion in cash. [7]

The United States alleged that in 2000 Huawei installed a telecommunications system in Iraq, which would have been in violation of U.N. sanctions. However, China’s foreign minister Tang Jiaxuan denied that Chinese enterprises and corporations assisted Iraq in building the fiber optic cables for air defense, and the United States did not accuse Chinese workers of building fiber optic cables specifically.
Like what? He is being promised a Cabinet position? Or you suggesting that Romney is corrupt?
Fred Thompson maybe?
Sure seems that way.
Very disappointing interview. Losing a lot of respect for him.
So? He isn't allowed to make capital gains?
Didn’t Huckabee once say that Hunter would make a perfect defense secretary? There you have it.
..he said on another interview today that he isn’t looking for a cabinet position
I don’t see any increase in the number of seasoned Freepers that support Romney.
I have seen alot of Rombots try and run propaganda on FR and other places over the past several months. Mostly I have seen them plant false stories aimed at competing candidates from the Republican Party. They might as well be democrats.
I have noticed a few recently born Freepers that praise and hail Romney on everything.
But mostly I have seen Romney supporters carry out tactics that I would expect to see come from the Clinton camp. These tactics are distasteful and they have been confirmed by other candidates including Thompson and Huckabee.
I believe Romney’s support is an inch deep. It is paid for support, paid for endorsements and paid for media coverage.
Romney has no principles. He schtick is “Vote for me because I am perfect”.
From that article:
>If you are president in 2009 and Congress brings you a bill to outlaw smoking nationwide in public places, would you sign it? Matthews asked.
>I would, certainly would. In fact, I would, just like I did as governor of Arkansas, I think there should be no smoking in any indoor area where people have to work,
So Huckabee is saying he wants this to be federal law. You’d have to find Romney claiming he wants a federal law to bring him up to that level.
These laws should be set at the state/local level - not by the feds.
Okay....maybe he isn't looking for one...but would he take one if offered? Or could he want to be VP? If he was the conservative that some seem to think he is...then why go for Huckabee? He is not a conservative.
OTOH, it doesn't matter since Huckabee is on his way back to Arkansas with his tail between his legs.
sw
IMHO, I do not think the governor will make it past Super Tuesday
Maybe it’s because you can come up with similar nicknames for them. Huck and Dunk.
I hope you’re right and conservatives can see through the slick veneer.
However, the past FR polls showed Romney with a core group of 200 Freepers who have always supported Romney http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/poll?poll=206;results=1 Granted many of them had multiple screennames or were n00bs.
In the latest poll, fully 1/2 of the Fredheads said they were switching to Romney, that swelled the ranks of Romney supporters to 1052. http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/poll?poll=214;results=1
I can’t believe that Freepers think Romney is the preferable candidate. I’d rather have McCain or Huckabee. But then I think Mitt is a slick, moneyed, flipster, who is practiced in the art of “bait and switch” and he’s delusional on top of all that.
