High stakes in Florida's debate tonight

ORLANDO,Fla-MSNBC hosts a Republican debate in Boca Raton this evening. What's at stake? Everything but the kitchen sink is at stake as four candidates vie to claim the biggest chunk of delegates yet.

Debate viewers can expect to see the candidates trying to appeal to the melting pot of conservative Republicans who inhabit the Sunshine State.

The Florida Republican demographics are unique. It's a Southern state, with a substantial Northeastern and Midwestern influence, and a healthy voting block of evangelicals to boot.

Florida is also the first state with a closed primary, which means there will be no surprise influx of undecided voters or independent voters supporting more moderate candidates.

I’ll be watching Steve McQueen on Bluray. Thank GOD I have no interest in any lies coming from that stage tonight.

“Florida is also the first state with a closed primary, which means there will be no surprise influx of undecided voters or independent voters supporting more moderate candidates”.

I wonder who that will hurt? I’ll take a shot at maybe, just maybe, it will hurt McCain.

What stakes?

Without a Conservative in the mix, nothing is to be lost, because nothing is to be gained.

McCain knows he is on the ropes. Look for him to try and slip a fast one against Romney.

I’ll be watching. Won’t be as exciting as seeing hill and obama duke it out. And I will miss Fred’s conservative views.

Fred was the adult in the debates. No one really wanted to take him on.

If Rudy loses, and it sure looks like it, Mitt is the only near guy who people will pull the lever for especially Fredheads. Perhaps, now that Rudy is done, Mitt might still pick Fred as his Veep choice. If McCain wins, then all this baloney about conservatives not picking him will vanish. Fla. is not filled with indies it is a Pub primary. Common sense would tell voters never to vote for socialist pacifists such as Dems or pseudo-Pubs. But, they do in huge issues. What a world this will be in Nov.!!

Fred was not the conservative everyone kept thinking he was. He didn't just vote for McCain Feingold's CFR, but was key to getting it passed -- the MSM was carefully silent about all the facts and his past that demonstrated it and Fred supporters ignored it as well as his history when it came to abortion, Roe v. Wade and gays.

I really wish people would stop drinking the MSM koolaid and actually dig back into history and do some research on candidates.

Bush may be a social conservative but he is a terrible fiscal conservative and we still have Roe v Wade in this country -- because the President cannot control that, he can only control the SCOTUS and Bush was good in that regard... it comes down not to what a candidate personally believes but what kind of judges he beleives in and one thing I know, there isn't a lot of difference between McCain and Hillary in that regard....

My dream candidate never materialized.........I chose Thompson as the most conservative viable candidate....and he failed. NONE of us are happy about our choices. The GOP has left us and couldn’t care less. Have we forgotten shamnesty?

-and I do not drink kool-aid. I vote on issues.

The entertainment value of the “debate” might be fun. Julie Annie will probably come out like a rabid crazy man.

McCain has very strong support here in Florida.
I have been active in the GOP since 1982.
Look for him to win.

I may be in the audience at the debate.
Its just down I95 a bit, but I don’t really have a dog in the fight anymore.
All of the Candidates except McCain are socialists with an R, and McCain has a real habit of stabbing us in the back, so I may refuse the invite.

but Rudy himself is going to come to my town sometime soon after the debate to stop at an Italian restaurant, Piasano’s, so I may see what that circus is like.
Thats just down the street.

Mitt is a younger, better looking, hillary of the opposite sex.

Romney better be able to duck, with Williams and Russert being involved.

Cool. Maybe ask him why he continues to lie about his gun-grabbing, anti 2A, agenda. No one really believes him, when he says he supports 2A, but he keeps it up anyway.

That would be a bad move by any of the candidates. I hope Romney talks about his positive conservative proposals and doesn't even address any of the other candidates

Tonight would be a good time for McCain to totally lose his temper.
