PING! I see a pattern here where the other Nannies may not. ;)

I have shopped at Whole Foods since they only had one little store in Austin.

Going back to paper. I thought that using plastic was going to save trees. Oh, the horror. They are going to go back to killing trees (Luna).

The enviro-weenies are schizo.

I’m not much of a hippie, but I do believe in conserving when it is practical and doesn’t affect business too much. Another thing people need to realize is how much paper is wasted with the distribution of mail catalogs that are usually discarded.

It's hilarious that San Francisco passed a law requiring grocery stores to use paper bags, but it doesn't apply to other stores. There are more plastic bags coming out of the various downtown Walgreens stores on any given day than used to come out of all of the grocery stores in the city combined.

Way to miss the target, guys. ;)

Kill a tree...choke a fish...one or the other will make a “Greenie” convulse anyway.

Manufacturing paper bags requires more energy resources and generates more “greenhouse gases” than plastic bags.

We are certainly not running out of landfill space in the US.

This is purely a litter problem. Just enforce the anti-litter laws. Not just for plastic bags but all the other crap that slobs throw into the street or by the side of the road.

I hate those plastic bags.

They let your food roll around the floor boards of the truck, or they are tied so tight the food must be cut out of the bags. Nothing stands upright, so prepared food items are often goulash before they get home.

Bring back paper bags, or as I like to call them: Luggage.

I stopped at Whole Foods this evening on my way home from work and saw the signs about eliminating platic bags. What a major inconvenience. Plus paper bags use more storage space at home and in landfills. I don’t shop at Whole Foods to save the environment, I shop there for the convenience of getting a level of food quality I can’t get anywhere else in one place. Next they want to replace the plastic bags in the perishable and bulk departments. Looks like I’m going to have to start shopping at Wegmans.

I go to the store and first buy a case of beer. Atop the case I stack the necessary food groups - cigars, bourbon, chocolate fudge, burgers, potato chips and ammo. Then I carry it out to the SUV. I don’t need plastic or paper bags.
