My first year in high school (1971), there was a redneck guy who was a junior or senior who used to walk 2 steps ahead of his girlfriend every time I saw them. She used to keep her head down so she wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. I never did find out what that was all about.
If they ended up together,,he beat the hell out of her multiple times and one of them has ended up dead.
