At least the kid didn’t have a leash.

Don't worry, I've seen that from plenty of "normal" people.

I suppose we abused our son like this. We should have just let him run out in front of a car... After all, 2 and 3 year olds are SO obedient. That's why the first words they like to use are "No!" and "Won't!" We would have felt MUCH better.

Seriously, when you have children, the first time he/she lunges into traffic, after the absolute horror goes away, a harness suddenly seems like a much better idea. And, after he learns his limits, to stay close to Mommy and Daddy in the parking lot and at the store, the harness can join his first shoes and snap-ups and the binky in the back of the closet. Keep the stroller close by, however. Toddlers poop out fast at the park.
