A year and a half ago,I hung out one night at a recording studio in New Orleans where my nephew’s band was having their CD engineered. Had a nice time talking to the co-owner, who was once a well known guitarist and now a producer and engineer mostly. He had done a lengthy recording session some years back , where Ringo participated along with Harry Nilsson and others. He related how shocked he was to see how nonchalantly everyone coked up, chugged down a dozen Heinekens, but most of all how strung out Ringo was-—he actually brought his wife outside and “beat her up” , according to this guy, because he felt her presence was interfering -—”and this guy was one of my idols....” he said sadly, as he related this.
