Bill gets some shut-eye at MLK day event

He’s been a pit bull when it comes to Barack Obama, but yesterday all Bill Clinton could manage was a cat nap.

And it was, to say the least, poorly timed.

According to the New York Post, Clinton took a snooze in the middle of a service to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church in Harlem on Sunday.

The Post provided a snapshot of the presidential nod-off, in a picture that made its way onto the Internet - and was perched high atop the Drudge Report - showing Clinton napping as King’s son, Martin Luther King III, spoke, and during the remarks of lawyer William Wachtel.

Hillary Clinton wasn’t there to nudge him, either. She was over at the nearby Abyssinian Baptist Church, where she was endorsed by its minister, the Rev. Calvin Butts.

Clinton has made no attempt to conceal his fondness for naps and once told Dan Rather a quick mid-day snooze “is really invigorating,” the Post reported.

Meanwhile, the former leader of the free world took some heat at another MLK event - this one in Atlanta yesterday - when that city’s Mayor Shirley Franklin took a not-too-thinly-veiled swipe at Clinton for criticizing Obama.

Referring to Clinton’s reference to Obama’s Iraq position as a “fairy tale,” Franklin, who has endorsed Obama’s White House bid, said, “We are at the cusp of turning the impossible into reality. Yes, this is reality, not a fantasy or a fairy tale.”

Hundreds of attendees at the service at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta gave Franklin a standing ovation. Clinton remained seated.

Obama has called Bill Clinton’s stinging criticism of his candidacy “pretty troubling,” charging that it is not factual.

Clinton has recently toned down his criticism, calling the Illinois senator and his wife’s chief rival for the Democratic nomination “a great speaker, a smart man, someone who loves our country,” during an appearance yesterday on NBC’s “Today” show.

If a middle-class Jacka$$ like me can keep my eyes open for the average corporate meeting, an ex-Prez(albeit a putz) should be able to keep the eyes caged when it really counts. I think he is CONSCIOUSLY torpedoing his harpy spouse.

I posted a link to the video of this a couple days ago....the news about IMPEACHED42’s rudeness has been out for a while....and yet, the LameStream Media has just kind of ignored it.

Just like they would if a Republican ex-President had done the same thing.

Right.

Clintons sleeping together again.

Looks like Bill is sleeping alone again.

If I remember, that pic was taken at the Reagan memorial. The Fords are seated behind them. Looks like Betty is about to slap the back of Hill’s head.

Remember when Reagan dozed off at a press conferance, and the media yammered on about it for weeks? Remember how they attacked him as old, and out of it, and not for his work? Remember that?

Where is American's United for Separation of Church and State, Barry Lynn?! I forgot that it's only wrong if it's white Christians.

Another Democrat campaigning, another black church.

Hillarious. Another Clinton classic. If Romney had done it, MSM would have gone ballistic, reporting it for weeks in huge outrage. Who can forget how MSM went after Ann Coulter and quoted her out of context.
