Some may not know that Danish troops have deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. They’re not just “fearful,” they’re doing something about it. And they have this Yank’s thanks.

Mine too. I am 1/2 Danish (mom was a Dane). These are tough guys (read about WWII's resistance to the Nazi's) for such a small country (home of the Vikings).

Tak, Danmark!

- Nice to hear an American recognize that there are Europeans who risk their lives too in the WOT.

At the same time, as a European, I think we could do a lot more in this field and I understand Americans who feel we don’t contribute enough against fighting a common enemy.

In any case, the WOT will last over a long period of time and there is plenty of time to turn things right.

I choose to concentrate on the many positive signs of an improved dialog between Europe and America and think about where this could take us. To begin with, perhaps we can agree Sarkozy is a lot better spokesman for ordinary Europeans than Chirac was. Chiracs behavior was an insult, not only to the United States of America.
