"I think Romney would lose in a national election."

I think that there is no such thing as a national election. (Even though I too use the term from time to time.)

There are 50 independent state elections, and the candidate who can garner the majority 270 Electoral votes is the winner, even if that candidate were to lose the popular vote by millions.

The Democrats can only win the EC by stealing votes via voter fraud in strategically close swing States.

You are correct, of course. I mispoke (mis-wrote?).
I still think that Romney has a hard row to hoe and that he is not a shoe-in for the presidency if he is nominated.
Most of my conservative friends are contemplating *not* voting rather than vote for Romney or Huckabee. This is a first, as is my own realization that I have serious issues with voting for him.
There are a lot of people like me. And it’s a shame.
