I like what Jim Geraghty over at National Review said — if Fred can’t be Reagan, he’ll be Goldwater. We badly need someone who can again lay out “first principles” of conservatism. Fred’s not going away. And I hope that a future candidate can build on what he’s done in this race.
As for me, I’m no longer practicing political relativism. Moral relativism has sent us into a downward spiral, and political relativism is doing the same thing. None of the current presidential candidates meets my personal absolute threshhold; as a result they do not earn my consideration or my vote. However, I will work to promote as many down-ticket conservatives as possible, because we’re going to need them.
