Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

There are no friends in politics.

Romney knows the writing on the wall.

All he has to do is come out and PUSH for such a program and he has it and Crist is checkmated.

I personally don’t see how Romney could be worse than McCain. McCain’s record is worse than Hillary’s. At least Romney talks conservative today. McCain comes from a conservative state, and has no excuse for leaning to the left. Romney may have leaned to the left, but if so, only to placate a liberal constituency.

Romney is apparently preferred by folks like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, etc. Even read recently that Jeb Bush steered his political advisors to Romney, though he would not endorse anyone.

McCain, on the other hand, is endorsed by the media and by Democrats. Not a very comfortable thought to me. He has a few conservative Senators supporting him, but you’ve got to remember that they are his close friends and colleagues.

Just look at the list of things McCain has screwed conservatives over... Campaign finance reform, tax cuts, amnesty, Guantanamo, terror interrogation, judgeships and the McCain insurrection, now he’s pushing global warming... The list goes on and on without end.

No need to attack Hunter - I have purposely avoided saying anything to rub in Fred’s being out of the race even though you were being quite irritating when Hunter dropped out. Now, that both of our candidates are out of the race can’t you stop with your irritating attacks on Rep. Hunter. Thanks.

I find these positions acceptable ...

“”But that’s only one step. Washington also has to stop loading Detroit down with unfunded mandates. Of course, we all want fuel mileage to rise, but discontinuous CAFE leaps, uncoordinated with the domestic manufacturers, and absent consideration of competitiveness, kills jobs and imperils the entire industry. Washington dictated CAFE is not the right answer.

“We also have to stop Washington politicians from imposing enormous unilateral energy costs on American manufacturing, including automotive manufacturing. For example, the McCain-Lieberman bill pending in Congress unilaterally imposes new high energy costs on U.S. manufacturers, with no safety valve. The Energy Information Agency estimated that this bill would raise electric rates by as much as 25% and gasoline by as much as 68 cents a gallon. And their estimate of the cost in U.S. jobs - 300,000 jobs. So it’s not just a job killer, it would also make it harder for families to make their ends meet.” - Mitt Romney

“I don’t think folks that make this comment understand what kind of damage McCain, Hillary, or Obama can do in 4 short years.”

Yes we do...

Its much the same kind of damage that Romney, Gulianni, Paul, Huckabee can do in less than 4 very long and distressful years...

Anyone suprised by this is blind as a bat, his numbers have moved nowhere in fact they are down since he originally entered and show no signs of moving anywhere but down.

“And flaglady, I pinged you to something last night...still waiting to hear back from you.”

God only knows what it was. Too long ago and far away. I’m about 200 commments past anything from last nite, so I guess you’ll be waiting a long long time unless you repeat what you said.

,i>Here’s an idea: How about going after the DEMOcRATS??!!

Which ones? The ones with the "D" behind their names, or the ones dressed up in elephant suits?

But that all depends on what you want for the eventual outcome in November...................

As if there is some way to change it? There isn't. The die is cast already. You may try to frantically change the result, but your desperation is for naught. NONE of the existing candidates will bring the base together, because none can. I will stick to principle and stay on the high ground. No sense in getting muddy.

It was on FNC a little bit ago. They were interviewing Romney live. It was not a great connection but I heard it...... and it can be replayed for those who try to find it.

I’m among those who think a liberal republican is every bit as bad as a liberal democrat....worse in some ways.

Heard any VP names coming out of Romney in the last few minutes.

The first of the dwarves to name one of the named VP’s (except for Giuliani, altogether, and McCain, who must name either Santorum or Delay) wins the prize.
