Fox News ^

Posted on 01/22/2008 11:17:25 AM PST by tpanther

Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

Haaarvaaaard! you say Haaaarvaaaard? Really what does that prove?

Clinton went to Oxford and Yale.
Al Gore went to Harvard (Al gore just got a nobel peace prize he must be smart too.)

I hear they have a great UN Simulator at Harvard.

But really now I am sure he is smart, he knows that he should consult his lawyers before going to war.

Trust me, the issue isn’t better but how much worse.

It’s not a contest for me.

Think of it this way, having to hear, see, deal with Shrillary, Bubba and Chelsea every day for 4 years!?

Just because the candidate has an R after their name doesn’t make them optimal, or conservative.

If the party doesn’t want to put up a credible candidate, I don’t have to support it.

D@mn straight!

I won't vote for a Rat with lipstick on an "R" ticket
any more than I would want a wolf in sheep's clothing "guarding" my children.

Hunter did not fall short. So called conservatives did.

Blame who ever you like. Hunter is gone just like Thompson and Tancredo. They didn’t live up to expectations and it’s no ones fault per se but their own. Hunter in his statement said he ran the campaign just like he wanted. He lost on his merits, lack of merits or lack of name recognition.

You can take Thompson’s 7% and add to Hunter’s >1/2% and you would still be sucking hind teat to the point of getting out. None of them struck an accord that was needed with the voters to be a factor. Sad but that’s the way the game is played.

Actually, Petronski’s posts have been just about the only enjoyable posts in the thread.

It all depends on how you define 'enjoyable'. I entered this thread offering not gloating, but condolences to every Fred supporter.

Petronski chose to turn his nose up at what was a sincere gesture, and everything as always went downhill from there.

I've got nothing against Petronski, just like I don't have anything personal against the little guys that pop up in a friendly game of 'Whack-A-Mole', lol

How long until you go back to the Paul supporter performance art?

See my previous post. I hoped it would never come to this, but I'm now a Paul guy. Just sent him a few bucks. He started out as my #4 guy and has survived to number 1. I sure as hell ain't falling behind Mutt Rudy or John.

I’m open to whatever option works. I’m keeping my powder dry until the last minute so as to let things settle out somewhat between now and next Tuesday the last date we can vote. There is supposed to be a debate on Thursday night this week. McCain must be stopped. bttt

The last holdouts, who keep dissing Romney, are those with an aversion to the Mormon faith and those jealous of Mitt’s good looks and success in life.

Being a good candidate isn’t just about having a good issues checklist. It’s about being able to persuade. Persuade people to believe in your cause, persuade people to give you their money, and their vote.

Conservatives are supposed to be all about personally responsibility. Yet nobody on FR wants to take a critical look at their candidate and recognize their flaws are what did them in, it’s always somebody else’s fault.

If Hunter couldn’t gain traction, it’s HIS FAULT as a candidate. Not the fault of anyone else. Same applies to my candidate Thompson. In the end he wasn’t a good candidate, either. I’m not going to be a crybaby and blame the voters.

“If neither Thompson nor Hunter could win in a REPUBLICAN primary, what makes you think they would win in a general election?”

Because many conservatives didn’t know who to support in this election. There were a lot of poor candidates, and Duncan Hunter could never grab any of the spotlight. Add to that the fact that the early primaries are not in true Republican states, and it skews everything. Do you think the only people voting in the Republican primaries were Republicans?

Conservatives would have carried this election.

I’m very sad about Fred...but think about facing Mrs. Clinton (nag, nag, nag) or Oprah’s hip Obama (hope, change, fresh face, etc.) Handsome, positive, biz man, family man Mitt is much better than the elder, growling McCain. But that’s just a gal’s opinion.

Everyone needs to suck it up and vote for Romney. There is no other choice at this point.

Shame on those of you who want to sit this one out or write someone in. Hillary and Obama are NOT WORTH IT!!!!!

I too was a loyal Republican until they tried to pass the amnesty bill in secret. I will never forget that and it opened my eyes to the truth about most politicians.

Huckabee and McCain will be just as bad in dealing with the illegals and I will not vote for them. When Republicans are in the minority in Congress, for some unknown reason, they seem to fight harder and stand up for conservative principles than they do when they are a majority. I can't figure out why, but it has been obvious since the 2006 election!

Rush said sometimes we need a Carter to get a Reagan and I think he is correct.

I'm with you...please Florida, vote for Romney!

Hunter was the most conservative candidate. I pray that we will see him again as a Governor running for President.
