BILOXI -- A 27-year-old teacher at Biloxi's alternative school was released on $50,000 bond after being charged with sexual battery of a teenage male student at the school, police said Monday.
The complaint against Rebecca Bogard of Woodland Park Drive, Biloxi, was filed by the student's parent, said Capt. John Miller of the Biloxi Police Department. She was arrested Friday by the Biloxi Police on one charge of sexual battery on a male under the age of 16 and taken to the Harrison County jail.
Judge Albert Fountain set her bail at $50,000, and she was released the same day.
"This is her first year to teach at the alternative school," said Biloxi School Superintendent Paul Tisdale. Bogard is a science teacher at the Center for New Opportunities on Pass Road; she previously taught at one of the district's elementary schools for about three years.
She is a 1998 graduate of Biloxi High School.
Tisdale said he has informed the school board of the charges against Bogard. He will meet with the board attorney and the district's personnel director today to determine what action should be taken.
I forgot my sarcasm tag. Lighten up, Francis.
As it should be.
[roll that beautiful Alex Van Halen drum intro...]
Not too bright.
Not Guilty
You just pulled a boner!
so strange....seems like young women have lost propriety
these cute girls screwing mid adolescent boys
are they afraid of grown men?
i don’t get it......well...I do actually....my first was a married older gal.....he beat her etc....I was obviously less dangerous and eager
but these teachers....???
my wife hates this stuff......i’m of course more ambivalent....women will never understand why many men feel like I do about this
but not to say it’s poor judgement
gals get that way sometimes....especially when that egg is ripe
Man you were lucky, most just get crazy.
Well, I did, but I was alone, so nobody knew about it.
I agree with your point. When I was a teenager, I had affairs with a couple of different women in their mid-twenties. They both knew about birth control and what they were doing. I was just a dumb kid having a good time, and knew there wasn't going to be a long-term relationship. Each of them had just gotten divorced and looking back, I think they were trying to relive their high school experience as "queen of the prom." They went on to guys their own age and I kept my mouth shut, because it was just as illegal then as it is now.
I had a cousin that fell in love with one of her high school teachers, and it was an entirely different situation. I have no idea how far the relationship went, but her parents sent her to our house for a while. She thought she was going to marry him, and I think it affected her the rest of her life. It just affects girls differently.
“Why do you think teenage girls dont welcome sex with an older man?”
Take my word on this... some do.
Interesting. Do you think these experiences had any significant negative effects on your social development or later relationships? Do you ever feel like you were "exploited" or manipulated by those older women? What regrets do you have?
I'm going to guess that those women didn't have to give you flowers or profess their love in order to get your enthusiastic cooperation. Just another difference between boys and girls. Even if a teenage girl was physically interested in an older man, most often it would take more than a lewd remark and a few minutes of free time to get her consent.
She thought she was going to marry him, and I think it affected her the rest of her life. It just affects girls differently.
Most of the time, yes. There are some girls who are just as aggressive and emotionally nonchalant as your typical jock...but they are rare. But even these girls face sexual risks beyond what any boy will face.
I think the reason we sometimes feel the way we do about this issue is the same reason women react so strongly to it. We put ourselves in the boy's shoes and feel envy. Women put themselves in the teacher's shoes and feel revulsion.
The idea of being with a younger man is very unattractive to many women. I'm not sure if it's biological, social, or some combination of the two, but I believe the distaste is very real and in many cases very strong.
Ladies, any truth to this or am I completely off my rocker?
I’m not sure.
Women are quite fickle, that’s all I know for sure about them....and that I adore them.
Where are your morals, guys??
If you all are REAL conservatives, you CANNOT feel that she is “not guilty” just cause she “looks good” or such. And you CANNOT feel that “she did him a favor”, either!!
GROW UP,you BOYS, and STOP acting like a bunch of 14YO boys seeing their first playboy magazine.
NOW—I KNOW I will get flamed badly here—but I DO NOT CARE!! At LEAST—I have NOT forgotten what a “real conservative” means!!
Well - if it was MY son’s teacher (7th grade) she wouldn’t be a teaching much longer. In fact she wouldn’t be doing anything much longer. And seeing as this gal in the article was at an alternative school - I wonder if their were any developmental issues with the boy. (Like he is 15 years old, but with mental development of a 9 year old).
I think most of the "not guilty" comments are made tongue-in-cheek, my friend.
Not Guilty.
I do hope so.
After all—double standards are for LIBERALS, aren’t they??
i’d. hit. it.
