Is the Media Trying to Throw Fred Under the Bus?

I don't know about you folks out there, bu it seems to me every day I come here I'm seeing stories from various news sources of Fred Thopson dropping out of the presidential race.

I know his mother is ill and it may be distracting him. And I don't want to speak for his mother, but if I was running, I'm sure my mother would be telling me "go fight and win your dream".

With all these stories out about Fred dropping out, it seems to me that the MSM is trying to throw Fred under the bus to promote their candidates.

they threw him under before he got into the race and have just been doing wheelies around the parking lot taking turns running him over ever since.

Frankly, his primary performances have pretty much thrown him under the bus.

I love the guy’s platform, but he’s no longer a viable candidate. Sad too, best ideas out of the group.

They’ve been throwing Fred under the bus since he announced.

For a guy they claim was never really in the race, the MSM is sure spending a lot of time discussing his exit from the race.

Nah, the media is driving the bus and they're trying to run him over. It's been obvious for some time now.

The media’s been throwing Fred under the bus and them backing over him while claiming not to see him there since before he got in the race.

The media’s been throwing Fred under the bus and then backing over him while claiming not to see him there since before he got in the race.

Fred hasn't fought for the nomination before now, so why would she tell him to do so now that his prospects are worse. It's also unclear this is actually his dream.

Blame who you will.... but the real question is: Was the Presidency actually “Fred’s dream” or the dream of those like us who love his principles, politics, ethics, and record. If his heart was never in it, then so be it. A President who has all the “right stuff” but without energy, fervor, and a strong determination to get elected to the job and do it with heartfelt zeal is not going to be successful.

The MSM isn’t Fred’s problem, Fred is Fred’s problem. I said this from Day 1 here, that even though he would absolutely be my top choice as a candidate, and I plan to vote for him in my state’s primary on Super Tuesday, I had my doubts as to whether he had the fire in his belly to do what needs to be done to run for president these days. I think he thought he could do it differently. The sad fact is, that genie is out of the bottle and ain’t going back in. You can’t do it differently. I’m not saying that with glee, I wish you could do it differently. I wish we could have another JFK scenario, where he announced on Jan. 3 of the election year. But I don’t think you can anymore, and if you’re going to run, you’ve got to be prepared to do what it takes now, in the real world, which is devote every waking moment of your’s and your families lives to it for two or three years. And I don’t know that Fred was ever prepared to do what it takes.
