Ralph Nader is a dedicated socialist, but he is very astute politically. His unsuccessful white house run forced the Democratic party far more to the left that before. If the Republicans lose, we can tolerate another Clinton (after all little Bush has outspent Clinton be wild amounts and has betrayed gun owners with his justice department's amicus brief), but we will never shift to conservatism if the republicans keep offering the (slightly) lesser of two evils and get away with it
