“If McCain gets the nomination, I don’t know what I’ll do,” DeLay said at the Capitol Hill Club, according to a source in the room. “I might have to sit this one out.”

you have to change with the times, sometimes. don’t call yourself a hypocrit for that. If McCain gets the nomination I will either vote democrat or not vote for president.

Tancredo said Romney was getting immigration right while governor in a very blue state, before it was “popular”. I believe he is right.

Well, either way I get the “D” on the court considering McCain is a RINO and possibly more of a “D” than an “R”.

I am really tired of people telling me I have to vote for a RINO out of fear of a democrat. I am a conservative, and I will never vote based on fear. Voting due to fear is the position of RINOs and democrats.

Thats pretty poetic.

Its the late ones we worry about. The laggers are the problem.

Whole things turning out kind of how I figured. Its really been in front of our faces the whole time. We just kept those blinders on.

Another couple zingers like that: He’d be out of step in a one-man parade; marches to a different drummer, but he’s not in step with him, either; and consistently fails to live up to the low standards he sets for himself.

The GOP has deserted the base and the next president will be a democrat.

Perhaps Conservatives need to concentrate on the House and Senate races. That is where the major battles will be fought.

I’m all in with TD!

Personally, if he could get over the CFR faux paux, I’d like to see TD take over as FRed’s campaign manager. But, only if he brought his “baseball bat” with him. LOL

Ed Rollins would crap a brick!

So, you have been with us since January 2008?

Maybe you should read more and post less.

“JD Hayworth lost his election just like Matt Salmon did by sittin on his fat ass and assuming........”

I’m not as up on why JD lost as you are, but in my mind, we lost a good guy.

Thanks! I get a lot of practice (bathroom walls)!

I dunno. I still think the primary favors RINOs. I think if folks spent the time to know the candidates, they would do differently.

It's ok. This election will be devastating... I mean SERIOUS smoking crater time. The conservatives will get the leadership back, and we can rebuild again. If not, it is off to another party.

I dropped my Republican affiliation when Hunter left the field, so I am open to just about anything at this point. There is a remarkable freedom in the Independent position... a sort of relief. Kinda like the first time you get a Linux OS running and find the freedom there... Repubs can hit the road for all I care.

Hey Delay - where were these strong words back when Repubs were in the majority? Easy to grow a spine when you are irrelevant anyway....

When the best conservative credentials for a candidate boil down to having participated in the confirmation of two conservative USSC judges there’s something fundamentally wrong.

Before deciding to sit this out, do what you can to make sure we we nominate someone other than McCain. If that fails, then stay home.

That's a nice thought....but there are no other Repub candidates that are any more appealing.

We have Rudy the Hillary in Drag...

We have the Huckster - the pro-2nd Amendment, pro-life big government, illegal alien courting, tax-loving liberal.

And the Mormon uber-liberal, Abortion on Demand, Gay marriage promoting, in conservative clothing pretending to be against it after he was for it (the Republican Kerry?).

And lest we forget McLame - the most unstable idiot of the bunch. While I thank him for his service, I think his brain was permanently damaged by his interrogations by the NV. He is completely unfit to lead this country under ANY circumstances... period. Traitor on the borders, traitor on judicial appointees, and generally a nut-job.

And why even bother with Thompson - his half-hearted campaign that cannot even get traction in neighboring Southern states... I like the guy. But he just doesn't seem to really WANT to be president, and the polls show it (as does his campaign finances).

Ron Paul--- I think I am voting for him just as a protest vote. Heck, he has more delegates than Thompson too! And likely in the top 2 for finances in the Repub. party. Horrible isolationist president he would be.... But would be a wild ride!

So what does that leave us? Not much. GW and the spineless Repubs in the Senate over the last few years have pretty much done to the National Republican party what Huckabee did the the Arkansas Republican party....gutted it.

Mitt Romney was a successful businessman and he saved the Olympics. Putting on the Olympics is an international undertaking of mammoth proportions - and don’t forget SECURITY measures play a large part. He is the only GOP candidate who has a plan for health care. The only one! And he doesn’t just talk about it - he actually tried to do something about it. In addition, Romney has a wonderful strong family life - a good example for our youth.

Since McCain is such a loose cannon and war monger, McCain cannot be trusted as Commander in Chief. Furthermore, McCain gets along better with democrats than he does with republicans. Huckabee has too narrow of a base. Giuliani is basically a liberal with a very few conservative ideas. Hunter is gone and it looks like Thompson is weighing his options.

I am proud to support Mitt Romney - all the way to the White House. All the negative talk and name-calling on this site against Romney is pretty sickening, nonsensical and dumb.
