Ron Paul is an embarrassment to all Americans, not just us Texans who share the state with this glorious moron.

Why ARE we honoring MLK when we now know he was a plagiarist and was repeatedly unfaithful to his wife? Is MLK the first affirmative action figure in US history?

On the other thread you pinged me to, a aPaulogist (note: I claim ownership of that name) says Fox News isn’t credible. Right out of socialist talking points.

Unreal that you would say that. You may not agree with his philosophy on foreign affairs but to call a man who is trying to restore the fundamentals of what your country was built on, a moron, is just ridiculous in my opinion.

Plus MLK was a commie - and they only killed 100 million in the last century!

Martin Luther King was a serial adulterer, a plagiarist, and an associate of Communists. Of course, he also demonstated great personal courage. But is astonishing that we are no longer permitted to talk about his undoubted flaws.

Perhaps that can be addressed on another forum. I'm just enjoying all this cult worship from Ron Paul Zombies who are using MLK as a campaign tool to show his lust for "Freedom", only to have these stories surface.

I’m no Ron Paul fan whatsoever but I’m not much on Martin Luther King either.

Sure he looks better than Stokley Carmichael or Huey Newton but still his flowery rhetoric aside, he was a real socialist and serious lefty.

It galls me that he gets a national holiday over so many more deserving people just for one reason.

It is precisely his foreign policy views which puts Ron Paul in the super-stratusphere of Moron-dom.

Personally, I think he is a traitor. But hey, libertarians and anarchists are brothers, so who cares about treason right?

Why don’t we hear these comments from Paul these days?
If he believes them and they are true, why doesn’t Paul use them in a speech?

It seems to me that Paul has already disavowed the comments about MLK, which puts Paul supporters in an awkward position...

Paul’s supposedly a good stand-up guy and he didn’t say anything wrong, yet he won’t stand-up and say the same thing today...

btw

why do you even care about Ron Paul?

he’s a non-issue in this presidential race...a conversation piece at best and if he breaks off I think he’ll carry more left wing youngsters than anything else.

race baiting on a conservative forum should be eschewed

one of the bulwarks of the NeoCon platform is a worship of MLK and the notion that anyone who questions that must be a racist

geez....how great Conervatism is today....just look at ALL our frontrunners to see how friggin great we’re doing right now..lol

the leadership of the GOP from Bush down is about as worthless as tits on a boar

Martin Luther King led a successful peaceful protest against discrimination in America. He is an important figure in American History despite his character flaws.

Oh, how “aPAULing”.

yawn.

What he said isn’t shocking. Well, wait. Problem is Paul is denying he made lots of statements printed over some 12 years, and is now making nice-nice about MLK.

Not sure what all that is about.

But if he really said those things and stood by them, I wouldn’t blame him.

Big deal.

MLK may not have been the worst in the world, but I doubt he’s the saint we must hail every year this *Monday* (as usual, never the real date, so everyone can have a long weekend). Hailed with multudinous parades, TV spots, TV news blurbs, newspaper editorials and articles, city-area awards for kiddies who pander to this stuff with words about MLK and “courage”, etc.

Meanwhile, the white guys get nothing. Well, close to it (Lincoln gets more than anything, being he is PC again because of the black thing). Mostly what they get is CAR SALES!!!! Woohoo!

"I’m no Ron Paul fan whatsoever but I’m not much on Martin Luther King either."

I'm withya on both.

However, the Ron Paul cult is actively trying to tie their wagon to anything that could give him a boost.

As part of the Ron Paul cult, some of our very own here on Freerepublic produce videos and post them on Youtube claiming the Ron Paul is on par with MLK because both were champions of freedom

Here is one...Free At Last

aPaulogists love to use talking points they believe fit an occasion, regardless of how they agree with, or contradict, previous points.

For instance: We beat a dead horse because Paul won’t get the GOP nomination anyway. vs. Paul is out polling and out funding Thompson, Giuliani, etc.

So now we see an obviously political use of the circumstantial birthday of a revered Black American, to refute allegations that Dr. Paul has had highly derogatory remarks made under his masthead about the same individual in the past.. I’m curious what RuePaul’s 2007 (or 2006, or 2005, or...) statement about Dr. King’s birthday contained. After all, since Dr. Paul considers him such a great American, there had to be a similar statement made in 2007 or name the year, hadn’t there?
