The Jan. 29 contest in Florida will be the first Republican primary closed to independent voters, who have provided McCain with his margins of victory in both New Hampshire and South Carolina. A victory, strategists agreed, would stamp McCain as the front-runner in what has been a muddied Republican race and give him a clear advantage heading toward Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.
Florida has played a pivotal role in the past two general elections and now is poised to help determine who the Republicans will send into the main event this November. The primary looms as a potential showdown in the GOP nomination battle not only because of its size and importance but because it will be the first this year in which all the leading candidates are competing.
Florida will award 57 delegates on a winner-take-all basis next week, the most of any state to date. The Republican National Committee penalized the state, cutting its delegate slate in half, because officials moved up the date of the primary. But by the time of the national convention this summer, it is possible that all 114 delegates will be awarded to the winner.

Romney didn't have the chance. He wasn't in Congress.
Read a book.
Romney’s the front runner.
Romney takes multiple positions on the same issues. But you know that.
From Romney? And frogs might rain from the sky.
That is an EXCELLENT point, WOSG. I hadn't thought of that angle. Your observation needs to be repeated. I'll do it if you won't. :) RD
We obviously haven't crossed paths on this board. I am a thorough conservative.

Why don't you shut your political pie hole?
Stifling the www? Online Freedom of Speech Act (H.R. 1606)
"1606 is needed because federal courts have ordered the Federal Election Commission to regulate "electioneering communications" on the Internet because of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act (McCain-Feingold). If H.R. 1606 fails to become law, your Web site or blog could be shut down for the 30 days prior to a primary election and the 60 days prior to a general election should you express "electioneering communications."

“Some people whine because Romney has moved right in his positions. Bizarre - dont we want people moving right? ... Well, John McCain has moved left over the years and wants to be rewarded for it. Blech.”
“That is an EXCELLENT point, WOSG. I hadn’t thought of that angle. Your observation needs to be repeated. I’ll do it if you won’t. :) RD”
Please do so! Some freepers fall in the trap “How dare Romney pander to me” - who the heck do you want him to pander to, the illegals?!? the unions?!? the gay activists?!? the media?!? that’s exactly what mccain, Huck, Obama and Hillary are doing - PANDERING TO EVERYONE EXCEPT *US*. And the phony excuse for McCain’s refusal to back down admit he is wrong - “well, McCain is more ‘honest’” No! McCain is *less* honest than Romney; he’s a creepy backstabber on immigration who lied to us about what he was doing, saying amnesty wasn’t amnesty, and telling us to shut up about it, and is simply wrong on that and other issues.
Mitt comes to us and tells us what we want to hear on life, judges, taxes, family, immigration, marriage, the war against jihadists, and conservatives turn up their nose. “How dare he. He’s not pure enough. He’s not got a record conservative enough.” Never mind that the guys who did have the conservative enough record got 1% in the primaries ... Well if you reject the conservative sounding guy for the non-conservative guy ... that’s a great way to get a RINO or liberal elected.
viable candidates who seek you out and ask for you to validate their conservative message should be supported!
That’s why it makes sense to proudly support Mitt Romney!
