1866? huh? I guess the 3 domes threw me a little. I though a bit later than the 1860's.
The picture you posted. Man. I remember that picture. It was famous when I was a kid. I bet there was a picture of that locomotive hanging in every railroad station in the U.S. back then.

Okay. I've thought it over and here's my entry.
Since it's Saturday evening I guess I'd better get it done.
Film: The Little Colonel (1935) Shirley Temple
Scene: Shirley and Bill "Bo Jangles" Robinson dance up and down the staircase.
Next
Film: Love Laughs at Andy Hardy (1946) Mickey Rooney
Scene: The Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney) and his "date" Coffy Smith (Dorothy Ford) dance scene.
This scene although short is funny because Mickey at 5ft 3in tall dances with Dorothy Ford who was 6ft 3in tall.
Well, it's one of those scenes you have to see. I don't know if it should be called dancing or acrobatics. Maybe a little of both. But I found it funny.
Well, that's it.
It was a difficult choice because I like the inovative dancing of Charlotte Greenwood and James (Jimmy) Cagney not to mention Buddy Ebsen. Buddy did a great job with Shirley Temple in the film Captain January and Cagney was outstanding in the film Yankee Doodle Dandy. Charlotte Greenwood is just great in any film she was cast in.
Anyway, there you have it.

Hi, Fiddl.....(you need a vowel, man).....you sure got your entry in under the wire, like the U.S. Cavalry led by Errol Flynn saves the settlers from the injuns at the last minute!
I LUV your double-dancing entry, both favorite scenes of mine. I think I remember clearly every Shirley dance from all her movies. I grew up as a little kid with a Shirley Temple doll, and I wish I still had it.
The way you described the Mickey Rooney scene is the perfect visual....I laughed again reading it. In fact, your postscript notes on other dancers brought back another flood of memories. Charlotte Greenwood.....now there's a real blast from the past!
Your entry is duly noted in my "Louella Parson's Little Black Book of Five Stars and Under". Tomorrow night after my dinner with Frederick March and Charles Laughton at the Mocambo, I'll be posting the winners of our contest's trip down memory lane.
Till then, to all of you out there in the darkness of the theater, Tinseltown kisses from your contest hostest,
Louella Parsons

1866 was what the caption said. The pic is from the C&NW Historical Society. The location of the photo of where the photo was taken was not indicated.
