Average in my area 1.05 pounds per litre so approximately 4.70 pounds sterling per English gallon or approximately 4.20 per American gallon (about 8 dollars). wait, wait...
I thought it was "a pint's a pound the world around" ???
(I know, lame, but it's my first post in awhile and I didn't want to tackle anything too taxing...)

LOL.
I only realised very recently why a lot of plastic and glass jugs are 32oz. Not only is this 2 pints in the American measure but very close to a litre so it is a very convenient size to use in Europe.
In Britain 40oz of course is 2 pints.
