These “open primaries” help McCain a lot.

Significantly, because he gets allot of Dem cross-overs and Independents.

IIRC, SC was one of the last open-primaries. Those coming are more restrictive, so McCain could lose his luster.

McCain's (38) and Huckabee's (26) pledged delegate count combined (64) is still less than what Romney (66) has. Media aren't advertising that fact. Neither are they advertising that, per CNN's current count, Obama (38) is slightly ahead of Clinton (36).

All bow down to the "power" of the press. These glaring facts that are, ostensibly, being covered up by the MSM, should disgust everyone with an IQ above room temperature.
