Fred needs to fight on all the way to the convention. He can succeed at the GOP convention where Ronald Reagan failed in 1976. Fred’s fight will be on the convention floor, for leadership and party unity.

Fred has an important job to do still. He must keep the nomination far out of reach of Mike Huckabee. And he must bring the party together as the consensus conservative choice when no candidate comes up with enough delegates to win the nomination.

Keep on fighting Fred!

The GOP better wake up fast. There is going to be a massive no turn out on voting day if McCain or the likes gets in.

Question: "What's Next For Thompson?"

Response: Based upon his showing so far the operative word is retirement.

Don’t be fooled by this crap.

Nothing is as it was. The world has changed, our Nation has changed.

Even the demographics of the South has changed dramatically. Did the 2000 Census not teach us anything? Did the last mid-terms not teach us anything?

Left of center Republicans, democraps, and in betweeners have flooded the South. Did’nt anyone notice the accents of the people interviewed by the MSM? Most weren’t Southerners.

Traditional wisdom and a $1.25 will get you a glass of sweet tea at the Waffle House, but it won’t give you reliable insight into the South, or this political race.

Hanging tough for FRed!

It’s not true that Fred Thompson did not catch on. What is true is that he was catching on, and changing minds, just toward the end. If he had had more time and better campaign organization, I think his message would have made it across.

I think that his competitor was Huckabee in SC, and I do think that slowly people have been realizing that being noisily Christian is NOT an important point on the resume of a presidential candidate. And that just because someone is an avowed Christian does not preclude voters examining his OTHER characteristics and record. With a proper look at Huckabee, voters would have turned to the one true conservative in the race, Fred Thompson.

I am sad they didn’t.

I’ll write in Fred if the Pubs don’t nominate him. Period.

“What’s Next For Thompson?”

1. Drop out

2. Endorse his good friend McCain

3. Sign up for another season of Law and Order

After reading most of the remarks, here, the only thing I can add to those who agree with the media that Fred is toast---what a bunch of sheeple to be had by the lamebrains in the lamestream; and what a bunch of muzzyheads who can't seem to remember a candidates record when listening to a pretty speech.

If not Huckleberry. himself, then some of his staff have certainly played dirty about Fred's campaign. Either he doesn't know, want to know, (a la Clinton) what they are doing or he is not strong enough to reign in his own staff--and what does that say about his strength as a leader.

It might also have been Romney's campaign, as I think Fred's run may have hurt him, too.

If you look at what the msm have done to Fred, you have an exact picture of what they would do to any of the Repub. candidates. I for one, have turned them off. I hope cable goes the way of the newspaper into extinction with the dodo bird.

In closing, I am sending another contribution to Fred. With all the previoius canvassing in FL by others and the msm holding his political funeral, I don't know what Fred can do, there; but I hope he keeps on--he is the best to govern, and if the candidate, the one to beat the Dems.

Well, there is a debate on Friday I believe, then Florida has it’s Primary next Tuesday. A week later 21 States vote. Since Thompson has his name on all those ballots (except Delaware), I say he should keep campaigning and see how many delegates he can go to St. Paul with in September.

I would likewise suggest that McCain, Huckabee, Guiliani, and Romney do the same if I were advising their campaigns. No need for any horse to drop out of the race in this muddy field.

Anything can happen.

Except for a single candidate to score 1191 as long as there are at least two others in the race.

Thompson needs to hope that the writers strike ends soon so that he can get back to being on Law & Order. He’s truly done as a Presidential contender, and all of his loyal supporters can deny it all they want to with the same result being that Thompson eventually leaves the Presidential race. These are strange times politically in the U.S., and we will all truly be forced to soon see a capitalistic U.S. become a socialistic U.S. for the long-term! Deny this all you want at your own peril.
