FOIA?
Freedom Of Information Act.
If BATFE handed my personal NFA records over to Mexico, I have a right to see any & all paperwork to that effect.
Nor will it solve any problems to speculate that such a harmful organization has some redeeming social value. We may be stuck with a group of Jack-Booted Thugs but I don't have to like it.
If you and I, as a group of two, support the abolishment of this organization, it is a start. If you don't support such abolishment, then the start is less than I would have hoped.
Gotcha
Citizens are capable of knowing how much of each to consume. Fed interference with the 'market' will not abolish it. Hinder perhaps, eliminate--no way.
Every shred of information that they possess about me was obtained under duress and through the use of unConstitutional laws. They have no proper authority to have the information let alone disseminate it.
Should I have the good fortune to be on the tribunal in future years before which they are forced to appear, it will be difficult for them to justify their actions in light of the clear all encompassing nature of the Second Amendment. It states "people", not just some people. It states "arms" not just "some firearms". Those with inadequate explanations will be punished severely. "I was just following orders" isn't going to cut it.
bump
Well, you're close:
Fixed:
I'm sure that we all want to track down the BATFE, who shouldn't have access to firearms.

Indeed, and if any of the BATFE personnel or others involved with the program have provided information to those who are enemies of the United States, then those actions are treasonable, both under the constitutional definition and that of existing federal law.
You will find the appropriate laws and punishments provided by federal law in Section 2381 of the US Criminal Code:
TITLE 18 §ection 2381
Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
You owe my a keyboard!

Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime exist. They will exist for the foreseeable future. Wishing upon a star doesnt solve any problems. [December 1944]
The Soviet empire exists. It will exist for the foreseeable future. Wishing upon a star doesnt solve any problems. [Dec. 1991]
Saddam Hussein exists. He will exist for the foreseeable future. Wishing upon a star doesnt solve any problems. [Dec 2006]
The BATFE exists...for the immediate future, not for the foreseeable future.
...and thus, I don't want them sharing sensitive data on US citizens with unreliable foreign governments. What say you?
Hardly. The most common means of doing so is to wipe out their budgets during merger or consolodation into other existing agencies or by creating new ones combining several predecessor agencies. This was how BATF/E was moved from Treasury Department control under the aegis of the Justice Department, via the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.
Additionally, there were at least three congressional attempts to eliminate the BATF, one when it was still the Treasury Department's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Unit, and two after the BATF name change, one during the Reagan years and a later one post-Bush I.
Barring a fortuitous asteroid impact, we're probably stuck with the BATFE for a long time to come.
Oh, I don't think their existance is a matter of astronomical certainty, though their useful functions, such as real bombing investigations, probably should be maintained. Too bad they missed their chance to butt into and screw up the UnaBomb case, or perhaps that interesting string of explosions in Arizona back in the 1970s, including, of course the one in which Phoenix investigative reporter Don Bolles was murdered while exploring mob connections to Arizona political boss and kingmaker Kemper Marley.
..and thus, I don't want them sharing sensitive data on US citizens with unreliable foreign governments. What say you?
Oh, I concur. But if they do or have, they should pay the price described in the U.S. Constitution and federal law upon conviction in an appropriate court or military tribunal.
...an thus, since BATFE isn't going anywhere, I really don't want them sharing sensitive data on US citizens with unreliable foreign governments.
I wonder of there's any BATFE paper in there.
