Over the past month, Huckabee first surged in polls of South Carolina Republicans, from fifth place to, for a time, a solid first place. Over the past two weeks, however, he has fallen behind McCain, largely for two reasons: McCain got a major boost from his January 8 New Hampshire win, and the struggling campaign of Fred Thompson made a last ditch effort to get on track here. While well behind and tied for third place with Romney, Thompson did make gains, and the data suggest that virtually every point Thompson picked up came out of Huckabee’s hide.
Same boat. I will vote, however. I just haven’t decided whether to write in Hunter or Thompson.
That way, I don’t have to listen to whiners saying “If you didn’t vote you have no right to complain.” When my right to complain got tied up in my voting habits, I just don’t know. lol
I’m right there with you! Today the republicans have lost my vote if Fred leaves. The MSM has been absolutely brilliant in getting away with controling this thing. The one candidate AKA... FRED THOMPSON that would have put the fear of God Almighty into the Libs and they knew it all along. I am sadened and also sickened by how easily played the hillbillies of the south can be. I feel utterly embarrassed for the defunct republican party at the thought that their poster child could be an evil, lying, snake oil salesman hiding behind the title of ordained Minister. The picture of his face alone with the title republican on it is the complete demise of that party. You might as well have that pigture include him drooling and the words.. GOOOOOLLY SRGT CARTER!!!
