Turnout is steady in the low country and lighter in the upstate.

South Carolina Republican Party officials expect half a million votes will be cast provided the weather isn’t too lousy in the upstate.

This is a good article. All the polls show it is anyone's game. Let us pray that the undecideds break for Fred. ARG seems to show this is happening and there is a bit of this showing up in Rasmussen's latest poll but given ARGs record who knows. The volatility in this race makes polling difficult but the previous polls by ARG in SC having been tracking well with the others by Zogby and Rasmussen. Who knows.

Lower part of State favors Mc Cain. Upstate favors Huckabee.

How come the Democrats aren't having a primary in South Carolina this year?

Also, it never fails to amaze me to see weather cited as a factor in keeping people away from the polls. I mean, imagine getting all hyped up for voting for Huckabee or Thompson or Romney and then looking out your window and seeing a little rain or snow and saying

"Well shazam! It's raining out there. I reckon I ain't gonna be casting my vote today after all, guess I'll just stay inside and watch a little "Barney Miller" and "I Dream of Jeannie" instead."

Do people really think this way?

Tonight is going to be a roller coaster. Fred is going to do good in this one.

Sadly the ones who don’t really care do feel that. The good thing about this is that hard line conservatives like me and you always make it to the polls. :-)

“Democrats are notoriously unreliable voters in bad weather. Instead of putting on galoshes and going to the polls, they sit on their porches waiting for FEMA to rescue them.”

Fred's supporters in Michigan helped deliver a victory to Romney over McCain. Now Mitt's supporters in South Carolina need to do the same for Fred. Stopping McCain and knocking Huckabee out of the race is a common goal we all share, and only Fred can do that — today in South Carolina.

Conservatives unite behind Fred and Mitt.
Fred in South Carolina, Mitt in Nevada!
United we stand, divided we fall.

Good Lord, do those shows even run anymore?
Didn’t I Dream of Jeannie start around 64? 44 years ago?

But your point is good.

Message to the people of SC: I’m a Arizonian, who has interacted with J. McShame. Please, Please, just say NO to this egomanaic. He will turn our country into another Mexico. He is very disliked among conservatives in Arizonia. Say NO to McShame!

Thompson will be # 1 or 2 in South Carolina.  Hang on and watch.  It's going to be a great ride!

My Mom, 85 years old, went to vote in upstate today (Pickens County). She reported light turnout with a mixture of light snow and sleet. She can’t stand holier than thou Huckabee and was leaning to McCain until I reminded her of his role in the Kennedy amnesty plan to take all illegal immigrants without even sorting out the rotten apples. I think she took my advice for Fred as she remarked “I don’t see so many of his ads, but he makes a lot of sense.”

Rudy got my vote.

My neighbors split their vote - 1 for Rudy, 1 for Fred.

It is amazing how quickly people decide they’d rather not vote for McCain when reminded of his history of being a thorn in the side of the GOP and running interference for Democrats.
