Tom DeLay Slams GOP Presidential Hopeful John McCain
Mens News Daily ^ | 1/11/08 | Jim Kouri

When Attorney General Janet Reno deployed federal law enforcement agencies to Waco, Texas to arrest the Branch Davidian leader David Koresh, one of the the tactics used was to constantly blast loud music 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Eventually, men, women and children died from a brutal attack by their own countrymen. And, except for a few Republican lawmakers, the GOP and Democrat senators and congressmen displayed no outrage. And Senator John McCain was among those who remained silent. However, in the new millennium McCain has become the protector of imprisoned terrorists and enemy combatants and fights for their constitution rights.

John McCain’s first-place showing in the New Hampshire primary did not impress many conservatives including former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

During a Fox News Channel interview, the man known to friend and enemy alike as "The Hammer" criticized McCain in an interview Wednesday with FOX News.

“There’s nothing redeeming about John McCain,” DeLay said.

The Texas Republican went on to say that McCain "betrays conservative principles.”

When asked on which issues McCain was not a conservative, DeLay did not mince words. He said: “[T]here’s tons of them” and then he listed the Senator McCain's positions on the environment, immigration, the International Criminal Court, his support for affirmative action and taxes. He also called McCain a “hypocrite” when it came to lobbyists.

“[McCain] appealed once again to independents,” DeLay claimed. “He’s not going to go much further than New Hampshire,” he predicted.

Tom DeLay also took a shot McCain's favorable press coverage. He described the Arizona senator as a “darling of the media.”

McCain is History, don't let him take the GOP down with him. The same liberal media proping him up will destroy him in November, and only at that point will we realize we've been had.

He has been a pain in the butt every since Bush beat him. I would not vote for him if he was the last man on earth.

McCain is History, don't let him take the GOP down with him.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

McCains machinations with the gang of 14 , in his RINO work broughht him into direct opposition to Tom DeLay, whom, BTW, McCain helped destroy as the party whip in the House. I mean a ticket like Hunter/DeLay would certainly do the job!

But the Dems hate DeLay. They fear DeLay. Which is why its good to see the HAMMER of the Liberals, BACK!

McCain is not the answer for the Pubbie Party. He represents the destruction of the Pubbie party, because 30% of the Pubbie base will NOT vote for McCain, no matter what.

Hunter for President!!!!!!!

One small idea of John Sidney McCain III as POTUS!
He along with Teddy Atlas want to clean up pro boxing.

Their idea is to make a new group of Washington bureaucrats
to be over all of the State Boxing commissions.
They also want to make all pro boxers join the Teamster Union.

This gives an idea of his micromanagement style.
A larger unelected group of parasites in Washington!
Pandering to his second favorite group, unions.

He fits right in with the last micro manager, Jimmy Carter.

That IS the plan of the MSM. Bait us with McCain, then switch us with defeat.

I could live with that ticket in either order. Although, any shot left would seem to be Thompson / Hunter.

Exactly. Conservatives in particular and Americans in general must fully wake up to the fact that the MSM is the enemy! It does not report the news. It circulates propaganda to support its anti-American agenda.

Americans should pay attention to the MSM only as indicators of the enemy's intentions. Our opinions should be based not on the MSM's "damn-blatherings" but facts freely and easily available from the New Media.

Only then will Americans be truly informed.

There’s nothing redeeming about John McCain,” DeLay said.

I hate John McCain but even I won't go that far.

I can tell you what this is all about though and one aspect to John McCain that you aren't hearing much about that would be significant to Tom DeLay.

The House would consistently send legislation and Bush would consistently ask for legislation that was watered down in the Senate because of John McCain and his merry band of RINOs. You don't have a bigger tax cut today because of John McCain. You don't have stronger anti-terrorism measures today because of John McCain. You can't even run an ad attacking an incumbent late in the campaign because of John McCain.

DeLay saw this up close. McCain and his RINO band would strip the teeth out of conservative measures to placate his little minority that was needed to outnumber Democrats in the Senate.

I will say this again. Any party that would nominate their own Judas for the highest position in their party as their own standard-bearer is a party than I cannot support, will not endorse and will not cast a vote for.

If the GOP is, indeed, "the Stupid Party", they will nominate John McCain.

Not only is McCain a micro manager, he’s a clueless one. In a recent interview, McCain was asked to comment on the fact that you wouldn’t be allowed to buy 100W light bulbs under the energy bill that McCain just helped to pass. McCain replied that’s not true. When the reporter read him the section of the law, McCain stumbled and said, “The new one is a better bulb anyway.”

He is clueless. I’m sure he only supported that bill because it was popular with his media base.

After the obligatory “thanks for your service, John”, screw you Senator, you’re a traitor to your party.

McCain did well where independents and democrats were allowed to vote in the Republican primary. Why are we giving others the opportunity to tell the GOP who to run for president? Silly thing to do, give away your rights.

He is clueless.

Especially, especially on economics.  When I saw him live last week at The Defending American Dream Summit in MI, it was music to my ears watching him get booed and heckled as he was beyond ill-prepared to discuss global warming/CAFE standards that cost jobs, (among other things like amnesty/borders).  He refused to answer the question, and told his staff to get the guy's cell number in front of 600 people...to more boos.

Duncan Hunter, Mitt Romney, U.S. Congressmen, and others who I saw speak during the same afternoon on the same stage in front of the same audience, had no such problem.

I agree.

I saw McCain deplane and it appeared he had difficulty making it. His physical and mental health remain a question mark.

Yep, media stooge McCain has but one purpose...
Heckler On-Stage during the primary debates...

watch carefully as Huck and Rommney attempt to dodge McCain bullets (when Paul gets tired of throwing his darts). Only question is whether McCain knows he’s being used...ie, is he a useful fool, or a useful idiot? or a paid useful tool?

I hope this RINO Republican cnadidate thing is Republican Rope a Dope strategy, and that some real Republicans will emerge to run. I would love to see Tom DeLay run.

Tom could get at least 30% of the Republican electorate, right off the bat.

The other 25% for an election win would be a battle, BUT I think he could do it.

THE HAMMER RULES!

And the Dems are scared to death of him.

If McCain’s skill as a pilot is any indication, we don’t want that guy in the White House for damn sure.
