Today is the day.
What about Hunter?
He’s missed about 30% of the votes this session.
But if you vote today you can’t vote next saturday, that should keep mischief to a minimum.
The problem I have is this. Can I trust McCain to actually enact it or is this just more McCain bluster to conceal his disastrous Anti Conservative record?
I think that Mega Churches are pulling for Huckabee. I believe thats what is pulling in his numbers, and crowds.
Exactly. I got into a discussion with someone regarding Dobson this week. He was not supporting Fred because Fred blew off Dobson. I mean what are ppl thinking? Huckabee started off strong early with the evangelical voters but I think it has leveled off because of his push pulling and Fred’s strong touring of the state. Yesterday’s talk radio was all about Fred v Huck and why Huck is not the person you want for a president. As the days went by this week, I think ppl changed their minds about Huck. Most Christian voters can see through a “Christian in name only”.
One thing that struck me most this week, was that none of the candidates went to BJU except Ron Paul. BJU has a big voters block in the upstate and not a thing about them in the news. Which tells me the evangelical vote was not behind just one candidate.
Apparently Fred was truly amazing last night in Greenville:

Kennedy hated Johnson, too.
Fred is gonna pull this off....can’t wait to throw a squirrel in the ole POPPER tonight and watch the Huckster’s dreams die!
LOVE the tag line, TOL ...! Prayers
for the Truck and sensible voters.

At the Last Minute, Thompson Shines
In South Carolina, the campaign that could have been.
By Byron York
Greenville, South Carolina At various times during Fred Thompsons presidential campaign, there have been moments in which Republicans who admire Thompson and want him to succeed have said, Yessssss! Yessssss!
Why havent we seen more of that? One such moment happened in December, after Thompsons no hand shows performance at the Des Moines Register debate in Iowa. Another came nine days ago after Thompsons forceful performance at the Fox News debate in Myrtle Beach.
And there was another last night, in the final appearance of Thompsons South Carolina primary campaign, in a packed room at Greenvilles Embassy Suites hotel. At that appearance, Thompson was so good, so energized, so non-laid-back-Fred, that many of his supporters wondered where the man had been during the campaign.
If anyone came to the speech to hear specific proposals for any specific problem, they were bound to be disappointed.
The right kind of speech for election eve is almost always a broad declaration of principles, mixed with get-out-the-vote exhortations, and thats what Thompson did Friday night.
But he had a more specific message, too, directed to the debate going on inside the Republican party these days. And the message was: Dont listen to those people who say the party has to change.
Stick to the conservative principles that got us here.
Thanks Starwise !
Not to worry 'rangerette. The "phenom" McCain is under performing amongst registered Republicans.
My Prediction: McCain finishes third in SC.
Based on his record, the evidence suggest McCain would make his Judicial Appointments based on “Bi Partisan” appeal rather then ideological soundness. After all, that was the whole point of his Gang of 14 maneuver.
So with McCain we are likely to get another Souter or O'Conner or Stevens. Leftist Justices appointed by a GOP President.
Interesting, infact I was thinking about that the other night.
Romney Thompson is the the ticket to beat the demorats.
&&&&&&
Absolutely the strongest ticket of all.
It is my understanding that Hunter is giving up his House seat.
Fendig, Cort, and Cox haha.
“Do you know if your business associate of yours had planning on going to the rally last night? GO FRED!”
I would doubt he could have been there.
Hearing the weather reports, I’m beginning to think the stars may be aligning for a “Fred Miracle”!
(Though I do worry about McCain’s early/absentee vote drive)
