A brutal assault on a 78-year-old woman during a daytime burglary in an upscale Daly City home has left the victim in critical condition and prompted the city to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of her suspected attacker, police reported Thursday.
The assault began with a robber forcing his way into a house in the city's quiet Serramonte neighborhood, and concluded with the senior lying semi-conscious, fighting for her life on the floor of her home.
She was bleeding profusely from massive blows to the face and the head — the victim of repeated strikes to the head with a crowbar, according to police.
Officials have identified a 28-year-old suspect in the attack.
"It was horrible," said Daly City police Lt. Jay Morena. "In my 28 years, I can't recall anything similar — such a vicious attack on an innocent person inside her home in broad daylight."
Officers responding to a silent burglary alarm found the woman shortly after 3:40 p.m. Saturday in what police are now calling a "botched attempt" at a burglary.
Investigators now believe the intruder who committed the crime had called her earlier in the day, impersonating a delivery man with a package which required a signature. He apparently had intended to learn when the woman would not be at home, police said.
The suspect arrived at the home shortly before 3:15 p.m., breaking into a rear sliding glass door with his crow bar, police said.
The woman apparently surprised the robber inside her home and suffered the consequences, according to police.
"He just repeatedly beat her with a crowbar on the side of the face and the head ... and left her for dead," Morena said.

Yeppers....because, to be honest with you, no matter how many rotten nasty scoundrels produced in America, they are far fewer than the absolute trash that steals through our borders, rapes our little girls and women, beats and robs our elderly, and kills our law enforcement....if they’d truly gather statistics on illegals and release this information....the populace would be in total revolt!
In my Texas town of about 70 thousand we have a lot of Latino gangs. They mostly fight among themselves but you know most robberies are committed by them.
We have had two children killed by gang members shooting through the walls of houses!

IMHO, it is not for ‘cheaper lettuce’. It is all a part of the grand-scheme of things leading to NWO. Increment by increment. I guess we are expected to ‘adapt’.

Yes, I read long ago that the gangs were bad up in the northeast. Many illegals head north fast now, anywhere north.
Our schools are kept locked here and parents have to go in the main entrance to the office to get a pass.
Hospitals in south Texas keep maternity wards locked and you have to show identity to get in.
