Hillary ducks talk of Clinton-Obama presidential ticket

Hillary Clinton on Thursday sidestepped talk of having rival Barack Obama as her running mate if she eventually wins the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Answering questions after addressing students at California State University Northridge, the New York senator said it was too early to start thinking about potential partners in the November election.

Asked if she believed Obama could be her vice presidential nominee, Clinton said she was "superstitious" and "can't think that far ahead."

But although Clinton has repeatedly attempted to portray Obama as inexperienced and not ready to become President, she showered the Illinois senator with praise.

"He is an extraordinary man and he has so much to give our country," Clinton said. "I hope that however it works out that he will be a major figure in American politics for years and years to come.

"I certainly support that."

Clinton spent Thursday campaigning across California and will head to Nevada later ahead of Saturday's Democratic caucuses.

Richardson has stated upon his return to NM that he would still accept a VP or SecState position... “if” it was “offered”, IIRC.

I immediately knew who must have cut a deal with Fat Bill to offer him this. His first priority upon his return to work was pushing Hillary!Care (renamed “universal” healthcare) on the taxpayers of NM durring the upcomming 30 day legislative session. Should be interesting to see how hard it’s going to be for Fat Bill to keep his promises to his masters.
I think he’ll have to resort to vetoing budgets sent to his desk that don’t include funding for this Orwelian boondogle to wreck healthcare in America. Keep many eyes on this Clinton lap dog!

It must have been noticed what a great advantage President Bush43 has had by choosing a Vice President who is genuinely on his side and not trying at every juncture to position himself to be the next President.

On the other hand, if President Bush had chosen a VP by the traditional method - for ticket balance and to carry swing states he might have won by a bigger margin in 2000 and had a bigger mandate.

There is no way Obama would agree to run as Clinton’s Veep. There is no way Clinton would agree to run as Obama’s Veep.

“That would be like signing his own death certificate. Hillary wouldnt let him live more than a couple of months in office.”

Nah, he’d live two years and one day into the presidency, then the Beast could have two full terms of her own.

Don’t be too sure. Remember, with the Clintons it’s all about winning. Whatever it takes. And if they think that would guarantee victory, they’d do it.

I don't see this happening. Hillary has plenty of baggage. Obama only adds more.

90%+ of Blacks will vote for the Democrat in the end, no matter who is the nominee. He adds no votes there.

Illinois will almost certainly go for the Dems. He adds nothing there.

I don't know what else Obama would bring to the table to help Hillary except perhaps the "likeability" factor. But that would serve to upstage Hillary and she would not tolerate that.

I'd expect her to pick someone like Richardson. Edwards would be a possibilty, but would she really pick a two time loser who can't even win his home state?

“I wouldn’t put anything past them.”?
I wouldn’t put anything past her.

If I were Bill I’d be careful. Can you imagine the sympathy vote she garners if he suddenly croaks?

Plus if Hillary picks Obama there's the danger some nut will try to get rid of her in order to have a black person as President.

I think she'll go for a white male (a constituency she will have a hard enough time with anyway)--maybe Evan Bayh, Tom Vilsack, Phil Bredesen or Jack Reed. An obvious choice would be Mark Warner but supposedly he's committed to running for the senate seat in Virginia held by his RINO namesake (Liz Taylor's ex).

I strongly believe that obama or hillary will pick a white male as their running mate..most likely a governor..or perhaps senator bayh (wins Indiana)..my two cents..
