"N. Korea "Not Serious" About Nukes" (Uh Oh, Somebody's Going To Lose Their Whitehouse Job)

North Korea is unlikely to give up its nuclear weapons before President Bush leaves office, a U.S. official said Thursday.
U.S. envoy Jay Lefkowitz has said human rights must be a component of disarmament talks.
"North Korea is not serious about disarming in a timely manner," Jay Lefkowitz, the president's envoy on North Korean human rights, told an audience at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. ...snip.......
White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said in a statement, "Under agreements reached in the six-party process, North Korea has committed to declare all its nuclear programs and to disable the three key nuclear facilities at Yongbyon as an initial step toward eventually abandoning all its nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs."

Ooops.
OK, who gets the ax now?
Mr. Lefkowitz?
Or Ms. Perino?
Which one gets the ax will say a lot about the closing days of this Administration with respect to the Axis of Evil.
Also, can you spot the *Barf Alert* paragraph, above? For 10 extra bonus points......
Go to the link and read the full CNN article. You will see the stark difference between realism and the same old State Department "give 'em more time, they will budge if we are nice to them", SOP crapola.

We need to have the Presidential Candidates ALL get into this issue. So far, I have heard next to NOTHING.The Presidential debates are a joke.
This is one of the most dangerous and biggest threats in the world, toward our allies, and toward hundreds of thousands of US troops here in the region.
The Bush Administration and Clinton Administration approaches to North Korea need to be put squarely under a microscope.
But I dont think the US political establishment wants to do this, because there will be a lot of blame to go around, both towards the Dems and RINOs.

What, the Korean nuclear problem hasn’t been solved. Geez, someone better tell Jimmy Carter. I guess Bush should be told also. Do it on the QT though, we don’t want this to get out. LOL

I guess the big lesson in all of this is:
Democrat Administrations and Republican Administration may come and go.
But the only two things left in power regardless are:
Kim Jong il
The US State Department

Lefkowitz's mandate was quietly dropped aside when Condi/Hill gang took the driver seat. Recently Eberstadt also came out of silence and lob heavy criticism at State Dept.'s Approach, echoing Bolton's view.
One time get-tough crowds are resurfacing into the public now.
We should ax Hill or Condi. Or any of self-important CFR "elders" who are making luncheon and talk circuit. They should eat tree bark, human-meat soup, and work at Kim Jong-il's gulag at which they also need to undergo "Revolutionizing Education."

That six-way talk thing sure paid off didn’t it. China must have been rolling in the isles on that one.

Very smart on NK’s part. Lil Kim figures he will just wait it out and then see what kind of great deal he can get from the new administration coming in.
All these countries tend to play us like fools. Consider the 1 billion we have pledged to Abbas. Its a joke.
Our hard earned tax dollars at work for some other country.

I still don’t know how the State Department arrives at these conclusions! They haven’t been right a single time and only wind up giving our enemies additional time to plan our demise.
Lefkowitz is probably only saying this because N. Korea has been so cool on his “human rights” agenda. (It sounds as if his primary job is to push the N. Korean “civil rights abuses” crap rather than worry about the disarmament issues.)

Congressman Duncan Hunter is about the only candidate I have heard that has said ANYTHING cogent about North Korea, that would also be interpreted as "big trouble on the horizon" by the Chia Head in Pyongyang watching CNN, swigging cognac and getting bjs from female slaves, having them shot after he tires of them.

It gave Korea forever to stretch this out.
I guess we can scratch the idea diplomacy was this administration’s long suit. Wait, we’re going to solve the problems in the Middle East right now. I forgot.
Put on your asbestos long johns Israelis.

State has aimed to bury the Bush dotcrine almost from the time it was announced. They seem to have succeeded.

I learned two lessons on American politics for last decade 15 years.
- No more politicians from Clinton family tree.
- No more politicians from Bush family tree.

That would be a good Moratorium.
I talk with Japanese who are AMAZED at the collusive, narrow, controlled situation in the USA which limits our choices every four years.

And the President and Condi Rice presided over all of it. They had SEVEN YEARS to clean it out, come this Sunday.
