If this were 1969 I'd agree, but this is 2008 and Islam is breathing down our backs. That Barak Hussein Obama doesn't appear to be a practicing muslim means little to me. His name, his heritage, his being raised in overwhelmingly muslim Indonesia, his attending muslim schools, and his artificial form of "Christianity" are more than enough for me to want to keep this guy out of the WH.

At the very least he must have a partiality for muslims because of his muslim family heritage. His name, by the way, wasn't given to him by accident. Whoever chose "Barak Hussein" for his names certainly wanted to give him some degree of involvement and cultivation with Islam. How can anyone be sure that he has absolutely rejected hs paternal ancestral faith? Personally, if I were him and didn't want anything to do with Islam, didn't want to be associated with it at all, I would have changed my name long ago to "Barry Fontaine Obama".

Here is more on the early education of Barack Obama..It appears that the school he attended in Indonesia was not an Islamic School but was a school for dignataries sond and daughters..Some of the girls and teachers wore miniskirts, something you would never see in an Islamic school as the article points out..He also attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic School...

Not defending him,wouldnt vote for him, just setting the record straight- and pointing out how the Clintons lie about him...

Obama's answer is nothing short of bizarre. He clearly appears to believe the fact that he "pledges allegiance to the flag" is somehow evidence relevant to proving his claim that he is a Christian and not a Muslim. Can anyone explain this?

Yes. The article doesn't say this but during the debate he was specifically asked to respond to three internet rumors:
1. That he is a muslim.
2. That he was sworn in using a Koran.
3. That he refuses to say the pledge of allegiance.
