More rain and more floods as La Niña sweeps across the globe (GLOBAL WARMING IS COOLING ALERT)

Britain enjoyed a brief respite from its downpours yesterday, but more were forecast at the end of the week in the latest episode of flooding linked to La Niña, a climate phenomenon engulfing much of the globe.

This year’s La Niña is likely to turn out to be the strongest we’ve had since 1988-89, about 1.5C (2.7F) cooler than normal. It has a big effect on global climate, temporarily cooling the globe despite global warming,” said Adam Scaife, at the Met Office. As La Niña cools the Pacific, less warm air rises off the sea, which has an impact on the atmosphere. The impact of La Niña on a global scale is like a pebble dropped in a pond; waves travel out from the source of La Niña and interact with the jet stream which affects the UK and Europe,” Dr Scaife said.

Strongest La Nina since 1988-89 yet Global Warming is happening. I do not recall Al Gore and his Branch Algorians predicting this even 6 months ago. I laughed out loud when I read >>>>"It has a big effect on global climate, temporarily cooling the globe despite global warming,”

That in a nutshell is what the Global Alarmists believe....black is white, white is black, and any weather event can be related to Global Warming, even if it defies logic.

No animal shall kill another animal.
All animals are equal.
Edited Five Commandments of Animalism:

No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.
No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.
Four legs good, two legs better!
No animal shall kill another animal without cause.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

La Nina and El Nino are episodic events in the Pacific Ocean. Though there are some models that have attempted to predict their occurrence, this is still difficult. However, the occurrences of El Nino or La Nina are inconsequential to the longer-term climate change predictions due to anthropogenic global warming. Some climate models indicate more frequent El Nino events as the world warms, some indicate less frequent El Nino events (and this uncertainty shows how difficult it is to model the dynamics of the oceans).

I have noted in the past, however, that the next year with a moderate-to-strong El Nino will almost certainly set a new global annual high temperature record. The current La Nina is strong enough that it could conceivably keep 2008 out of the top 10 warmest years all-time, if it persists. We'll just have to wait and see.

There you go again. Blame all the cooling on La Nina and not on what caused the La Nina. Here is a hint. Look up and squint.

I went through some of the historical data and this La Nina is far stronger than the 1988-89 La Nina.

The current La Nina does look like it has weakened over the past week. Good news actually because we don’t want any more of the cold temperatures that a strong La Nina brings.

The current La Nina has affected temperatures in Northern Asia and rainfall in Australia etc. more than it has affected North America (and more cold and snow in North America is the usual pattern but it hasn’t happened this time.)
