Government renames Islamic terrorism as 'anti-Islamic activity' to woo Muslims
Daily Mail ^ | JAMES SLACK

Ministers have adopted a new language for declarations on Islamic terrorism. In future, fanatics will be referred to as pursuing "anti-Islamic activity".

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that extremists were behaving contrary to their faith, rather than acting in the name of Islam.

Security officials believe that directly linking terrorism to Islam is inflammatory, and risks alienating mainstream Muslim opinion.

Good to see you too my FRiend.

We will not assimilate. Too many here are too well armed and the population proportions are still all wrong. Not enough of the enemy has been allowed to live off of our largess yet and make such significant inroads. It does not mean they are not trying though.

“Newspeak is a fictional language in George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the novel, it is described as being “the only language in the world whose vocabulary gets smaller every year.”

Someone should read some of the Koran to this twit. Someone should broadcast loud and clear just what the holy writ of Islam-the “religion of peace”-actually does say about the treatment of unbelievers. Then at least when twits like her continue to lie about “the few” radical Muslims who are “acting against Islam”, they’ll have to know that the world knows that they are bold-faced liars as they do so. Not that that would bother them, they have an agenda, it seems.

“Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that extremists were behaving contrary to their faith, rather than acting in the name of Islam.”

...No. They’re doing exactly what the Koran tells them to do. Kill infidels and Jews and Christians. I wish SOMEONE would actually read that pile of horse$$$t. Then maybe they’d quit with this “religion of peace” BS!! (namely, Bush)

So now will Islamic terrorism be branded a “hate crime” AGAINST Islam?

It is hard to believe that anyone would try to assert that Islamic violence against kufir (non-muslims) was REALLY an act against muslims.

So if these are not “false path but still” muslims, what is their faith/ideology so IT can be denounced by lovers of peace everywhere?

Paves the way for non-islamics to be charged with a hate crime even if they peacefully demonstrate their anti-islamic sentiments. Coming down the pike.

First thing I thought of, Newspeak. George Orwell deserves an ever-burning flame and an honor guard, and the ministers should be required to pay a monthly visit to have their heads kicked out of their arses.

I was going to make a comment about passing a copy of the Book 1984, but you beat me too it. Well said.

>>>>I wouldn’t be surprised if we follow right behind them.

Actually and thank god, I would.

The stuff we read here on FR about the dhimmification of the UK (and Canada) isn’t widely publicized. But when it is, I think it’s largely perceived by most Americans as completely looney, even by our opponents on the left. Maybe I’m being a Pollyanna, but I don’t think so.

What’s really bothersome is that the UK doesn’t seem to have a roster of political critics - like we have here in the US - who are paying attention to dhimmification and writing about it. Mocking it. Laughing at it. Calling it to the attention of their fellow Brits.

Ironic that the country which produced Orwell, Waugh, Huxley, and so many other brilliant social critics now supports only a gaggle of leftist and nihilist hacks who rant and rave about George Bush but cannot fathom what’s happening at their own doorstep.

“Well, bugger me” (From the “Vicar of Dibley).
“You’ve got to be sh*ttin me, England,” from Madmax, the American.

This broad Smith has got to go. Bring back the Iron Maiden. Bring back Churchill.

Hell, bring back Chamberlain. At least he finally realized that he was wrong and fought to win.

Bring back Cromwell. He had a way with his enemies and it wasn’t to call them nice names.

Damned. The Brits are becoming more a nation of fops and fags (cigarettes to you yanks) every day.

No more “fish and chips” for you, you fops. Now it’s only going to be burgers and fries, steaks and potatoes, red meat, women with straight teeth, and no pantywaists in the Parliament, Foreign Service, or on the throne.

So how will the real anti islamists be termed?

In future, fanatics will be referred to as pursuing "anti-Islamic activity".

THUS: You will now be considered by the UK government as a fanatic.

Orwell is laughing is a** off.

wow...i guess i’m the only person who sees this as a good thing...why not in fact? the point is they need to “woo” muslims to the cause. terrorism isn’t only anti-islam...it’s anti-humans...so it’s not entirely propaganda labeling it as such.

Robert Spencer from Jihadwatch.com has a good explanation of why this is not a good thing:

Orwell Alert from the UK: War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, Ignorance Is Strength, and Islamic Terrorism Is Anti-Islamic. Violent actions committed by believing Muslims, who justify those actions by reference to Islamic texts and teachings, will now be called "anti-Islamic activity." Ms. Smith, your statement that "there is nothing Islamic about the wish to terrorise, nothing Islamic about plotting murder, pain and grief" certainly expresses a mainstream view. I have just a few questions. How do you propose to counter the recruitment among peaceful Muslims that is being conducted by these "anti-Islamic" Muslims, who quote the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Islamic law to portray their "anti-Islamic" behavior as not only Islamic, but the only true Islamic position? Wouldn't combating that call for a searching and honest examination of the actual contents of those texts? Aren't you making that examination a bit more difficult to do by pretending that it need not be done, and that the strife is already o'er, the battle done, and the "moderates" have beaten back the ideological challenge of the "extremists"? How can sincere Islamic reformers prevail when you act as if there is nothing in Islam that needs reforming?

on a purely intellectual level I understand what jihadwatch is saying...however, let’s just assume most people don’t read.
Even many muslims are hard pressed to find “reasons” for such and such...I don’t believe they’re recruiting “moderates”, I don’t believe many of these youth are religious at all until they get involved. They fall under the catch phrase of the so-called disenfranchised youth, who basically don’t give a hoot about anything, similar to the..kind of people who join gangs.
A sound-byte like anti-islamic activity may actually have some influence on “moderates” who are probably too scared to speak out, psychologically speaking it offers them cover, to NOT align themselves with the whack jobs.

This is, without a doubt, the most brilliant government strategy ever conceived: Islamic terrorism is not Islamic. Problem solved.
