Huckabee: Anybody with IQ above Broccoli, knows I am a Conservative

Charleston, SC-

Last night at the Citadel, the historic southern military school located here in Charleston, GOP presidential aspirant Mike Huckabee positioned himself in defense battle mode, warning the crowd of 400 supporters about the barrage of attacks from his enemy entities, like the Club for Growth, that are questioning his conservative credentials. Huckabee defended his record.

“Folks, I don’t know what you are going to hear, about that I’m not a conservative, but when you cut taxes, and you increase the per capita income, you improved the schools, and you rebuild the roads, and you preserve the national resources, and you streamline government, your government grows at a rate that is half that of the average of all states,” Huckabee said, his voice rising. “Call it anything you want to, but anybody with an I.Q. above broccoli calls that conservative, rock-solid, kind of leadership.”

Heheheh I just tried making the same mediocre joke. Albert R. Broccoli was the creator of the James Bond movies.

Fried squirrel continues to be a great dish irrespective of the container used to prepare it.

You got a problem with that or something?

“If you have to keep telling people you are a conservative, there must not be much evidence that demonstrates that you are.” I also must add, “If you have to tell someone you’re a Christian, then you’re doing it wrong.”

Mike Huckabee is divisive in an already divided nation. I can’t see him being an effective leader when he gets to Washington. He’s already “flip-flopped” on two issues in the last two days. Now, if many Republicans are calling Mitt Romney a flip-flopper for decisions reached a few years ago, what would they call Mike Huckabee, pandering state to state for whatever folks want to hear.

I appreciate his wit and humor and think he is a wonderful pastor, or would be if he chose to lead a congregation again, but as president, he would not be what I’m looking for. I think Huckabee is an abbreviation for “a nation divided against itself cannot stand.”

and you increase the per capita income

Er, Huck. Conservatives don't believe that government should be responsible for your income.

Sort of reminds me of the Clinton quote: “Everyone knows that I have tougher ethic rules than any other President.”

There are a lot of Christian Churches that seem to view and believe in God through their own image.
It is a human failing mostly in my opinion.
Many want to self interpret the Bible without the help and so forth.

Yeah, thou shall not covet they neighbor’s goods, thou shall not have strange gods before me, thou steal or bear false witness. All of it anti liberal IMO.

The so-called "Evangelical faction" is the majority of the rank and file voters in the Republican party.

They have a home.

It is embarrassing. GWB may have some faults but he sure has never thrown the insults around like Huckabee when GWB has been attacked viciously by the MSM, the DNC, democrats and others for 7 years. If elected POTUS, Huckabee would melt down and lash out at everyone on all sides. Pathetic man.

And this is the vaunted Republican base?

It is time to fire them and their litmus tests, that grow longer every election.

And have produced larger than ever government.

Americans have gone so far off the deep end that they now believe that the government can control the weather.

Tysons was in business in Arkansas long before The Huck was elected governor. Your little friends Billzo and the Hildabest were in charge and they let Tysons run away with the show.

The federales should have been in there busting heads and keeping Arkansas safe for real Americans Fur Shur.

I had forgotten about that whopper.
