I doubt seriously that a single guy will come up with 1100-odd votes to win on the first ballot. In fact....this is a 20-ballot situation and we might be surprised who gets the nod at the end. There’s nothing in the book after the first ballot to say that any of the current group of nominees has to be the guy standing at the end. We could have a total outsider step up...to be a neutral choice...like Jeb Bush (although I can’t see him running).

Jeb Bush's campaign team in FLorida signed onto the Romney Team in early 2007 when Romney announced. They have been working hard for him there to beat Rudy. According to polls their work this last year is paying off as Romney has Rudy beat in the conservative counties.
