"This recent data is completely incompatible with any claims of an acceleration in global warming, as presumed by Al Gore, the UN-IPCC and other alarmists."

You'd never know it by the way global warming alarmists groups and media have increased the fervor of their global warming doom and gloom advertising and "studies" attacking the oil and gas industry. Who knew the World wildlife fund did "scientific studies" and submitted their recomendations from them, a hot list of immediate actions and policies the US and Canadian governments should put into law to stop "global warming". These envirowienie nutter groups need to be kicked out of the UN and have their funding cut off. They have no business attempting to dictate or otherwize sway governments as to what their policies should be based on their agenda driven "research" and so called "scientific" studies. Considering the UN is filled with all sorts of these lunatics, the UN EPA itself should be dissolved, and no further relevance be given to anything it says, considering it has been infiltrated by enviro nuts who base their so called "science" on fundamentalist idealism instead of science.

>> My question: what will you write when the next year with a moderate-to-strong El Nino sets a new global high temperature record?<<

Try reading the article

“Even if temperatures return to recent highs, and continue warming at the fastest decadal trend rate, the recent downturn will mark the biggest interruption in the temperature trends in several decades. (Precisely which decade depends on how you define trend lines.) This recent data is completely incompatible with any claims of an acceleration in global warming, as presumed by Al Gore, the UN-IPCC and other alarmists.”

>> I’m as sure of that happening as I am sure that the Sun will rise tomorrow. There are only some extreme circumstances that could prevent either from occurring. <<

Because it’s your religion? That the temperature will rebound is rather likely, although it could easily wait till 2009. That it will surpass the 2003 and 2006 relative temperature peaks is not likely, since this drop is not entirely explained by the La Nina. (Notice the large region of cool east of Australia? There’s also abnormal cool in the North Pacific, and surrounding Antarctica._

That it will surpass the 1998 El Nino is highly unlikely. And that will mean that even if it DOES match the 1998 El Nino, that will only mean temperatures are back were they were 10 years earlier... hardly an acceleration.

Sorry, Mr. Gore, your god is dead.

"However, unable to justify drastic temperatures with fears of the temperature rising a single degree or less next century, the global-warming doomsday-preachers have been asserting that the surge in global warming in the late 1990s indicated an acceleration of global warming."

The old accelerating temperature nonsense, so they can model it as an exponential growth curve extracting maximum fear from the public trick.

Very selective data there. As you know, from WWII to around 1980, the scare was all about global cooling.

The data showing essentially no change since 2001 aren't enough to establish a trend one way or the other, but it sure is interesting to watch the jihadis squirm as each year goes by with data contrary to the "models."

Hmmm... the ONLY dataset to show a spike in 2005... EIGHT year trends (just long enough to include the 1998/1999 La Nina), and of course, counting trends in such a way that it’ll be till 2016 before we see the full effects of any temperature shifts in 2007/2008.

A six-year trend line, and you’d see the flattening, a ten year trend line, and you’d miss any flattening at all. And, pardon me, but I seemed to miss the most recent gigantic volcano.

"¿La Niña?"

It's the opposite of el-Nino. It usually brings colder harsh winter air flows compared to the warmer air flows produced by el Nino. Or so "they" say.

All I know is in the north, where I work, mostly in polar bear country, the last few years have been cooler than normal, but you'd never know it if you listen to the BS media and those envirowienie groups tell you.

According to them, polar bears in churchill are drowning while attempting to swim to arctic ice flows to hunt seal, their sole source of food.

They get away with such stupid claims because the sheeple (general public) is too stupid to realize Churchill is no-where near the arctic ocean, that these bears would first die of exaustion walking 2000 miles to the edge of the arctic ocean.

Despite the long walk and shortage of food bearing arctic ice, the polar bear population has managed to grow by over 10,000 bears in the last ten years, despite all these man- made eviromental hurtles we throw at them. Theyu are a bit leaner they say, and of course that has nothing to do with the increased size of the pack, putting more pressure and increased competition by those bears on the food sources (yes, they eat more than baby seals that float by on ice flows 12 months of the year)

My question: what will you write when the next year with a moderate-to-strong El Nino sets a new global high temperature record?

I'm as sure of that happening as I am sure that the Sun will rise tomorrow. There are only some extreme circumstances that could prevent either from occurring.

Here is that extreme circumstance:

"Today, the Space and Science Research Center, (SSRC) in Orlando, Florida announces that it has confirmed the recent web announcement of NASA solar physicists that there are substantial changes occurring in the sun’s surface. The SSRC has further researched these changes and has concluded they will bring about the next climate change to one of a long lasting cold era."

I would be concerned only if the climate never changed. A changing climate is a natural, healthy climate.

>> Probably ‘cause the ice is melting. <<

I hope you’re being sarcastic.

As I stated already: Actually, any glacier ice melting into the sea would be WARMER than the sea it’s melting into, since the glacier ice is fresh water. And of course, the ice in the Artic refroze astonishing quickly, and the Antarctic ice cap is growing.

The Moonbats will say the water temperatures are falling because the wind farms are blowing cooler air on the water, cooling the surface. Therefore global warming is accelerating because the ice caps are melting from the bottom - up !
And it’s Bush’s fault because he’s allowed the US Navy to continue to use sonar, killing the whales, and their decaying corpses emit ‘harmful’ gases ....
harmful to the polar bears.

But there is a silver lining - for Exxon Mobil stock holders. Decaying whales will replenish oil supplies.

The recent rains in Australia have been bad for Branch Algorians to digest. Last year the headlines were things like...............Global Warming Alarm: Doomsday for Australia?.............
Global warming ‘to fuel global drought’..............Australia’s Epic Drought.........New report shows global warming link to Australia’s worst drought..................................................................................................................Now the headlines are ...............Australia’s Drought May Be Easing, GrainCorp Says .......................Cool conditions allow crews to bring fire under control..............Harsh monsoon season brings heavy rain to Australia ...............I sure am glad Al Gore and his merry band of global alarmists changed their mantra to ‘Climate Change’ from Global Warming....I think everyone on the planket agrees the climate is changing. It is called seasons and here in Wisconsin right now our climate is called ‘Winter’

Not really. flowing fresh water can be a few degrees below freezing temperature, it won't freeze because it's moving.

This can also be applied to ice formation in the arctic ocean. choppy wind driven water doesn't freeze back up as easily as it does when sea's are calm and winds are low. But don't expect those "scientists" ( usually a bunch of high school students following an evirowacko around) to figure that out.

And now, the weather prediction for the upcoming year:

It will continue to be cold this winter, a warming trend will occur this Spring and we’ll have a hot Summer. Things will cool down in the Fall. Thank you.
