Thompson knows he can't foist the liberal, amnesty-loving McQueeg on his conservative constituency even if he wanted to. A potential veep must bring certain things into a ticket, age will be a factor to set up for a future presidential run, a state with a large electoral vote is also a consideration, geography plays a part, the ability to have good connections to bring donations into the ticket, on and on.
In addition, the potential candidate cannot be a hundred floors short of a skyscraper, so that cinches it that McLame will not be ANYONE'S vice-presidential candidate.

Haha..That’s good...Looks like Mitt will be a dominant factor and may be the man to lead the GOP party..If it is a brokered convention, he just may pick someone who is not running right now, someone such as Haley Barbour, another get-it-done guy and very smart...
Incidentally, just for the record, Mitt is a very smart man- He graduated from Harvvard with a JD/MBA joint Law degree (cum Laude) and Master’s in Business Admin and was in the top 5% of his class in that MBA program and was named a Baker Scholar..
Checked Barbour’s bio at Wikipedia and it looks terrific too..He is also a Lawyer- U Miss JD, and in 1994 he was chairman of the RNC and guided the Reps to winning both houses of Congress for the first time in 40 years...wow...His term as Miss governor runs til 2011..In Miss he has signed the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge”, pledging not to raise taxes...hmm...
