I don’t think it will be a southerner.
If it’s Hillary, we’ve got the south locked.
If it’s Barrack, we’ll have problems in some states because the black turnout will be huge. And having the governor of MS on the ticket wouldn’t help.
I just don’t see a southern VP. (Unless Jeb would do it)

Yep. I spent six years in the USAF and a couple of years after that building weapons of war. I can honestly say that of the hundreds of people I worked with wearing uniforms that NONE, not one single person was or would become qualified for CINC. On the other hand, several associates I've known in the business world would qualify.
Reagan was in the Army and fudged is way in due to bad eye sight. Due to that he did training films.
I worked for him when he first ran for gov.

Camp Pendleton has over 65,000 Marines, WE have Marine Corp Rec. Depot, also the largest Marine Air Base.
Also the largest number of Navy. WE will always have tens of thousands of military here.
