In-store surveillance cameras showed that the man, who police identified as Derrick Kosch, 25, of Kokomo, shot himself as he placed the gun into the waistband of his pants, police said. That never happens in the movies.

The fool can't win a Darwin Award (he lived), One need not die to win the award but only remove themselves from the gene pool. A select few have accomplished this task (the .22 bullet fuse guy gigging frogs being another) w/o dying. It may be too early to know if this guy has removed himself from the gene pool, but certainly he has greatly decreased his chances of adding to it.
